Not trying to be rude but that really doesnt help anything with the picture taking.  Easy to take the pictures and still commit fraud.

USPS weighing does at least prove the box wasn't empty so I understand that.

I totally agree with the picture taking and still committing fraud statement.  I've been thinking about installing a video camera on a stand for exactly this reason.  Thanks!  Not rude at all!  Much appreciated!

Not really - if I generate a shipping label at home, it asks me what the weight of the package is, and that's what shows up on the receipt.

That is why I takes pictures of the comic being sold and it being put it into the shipping box in case this happens.  And I take it to USPS for them to weigh it and get an actual receipt from USPS for proof.

Like this line? I just noticed it tonight, first time scanning slabs with this used i800.

I'd take purchasing a new bulb than having to return this. Scarce these days!

Correct.  The company in the link I posted can make any light even if they don't have one for your i800.  I think they would require a used i800 light or the blueprints to be able to make a retrofit light.  My light that I bought from them is over 2 years old now and the scans are 10x better than the old light that came in the scanner when I bought it used off ebay.

Except now, there's a line like in your scan, but I got lucky because the line is off to the side.  So I just have to move the slab over a little on the scanner bed so the line doesn't show up.

I should probably order another backup light.  $50 is cheap to fix an expensive old scanner.  And the process of changing the light was really easy, because that comapny made a very good instruction guide that includes pictures and step by step process.  I also bought some lube to stop the scanner creaking noises.  The rails needed to be lubed up.  Did it all in one go and the scanner is performing quite well now.  #That's what she said

  4. This topic has been in the back of mind my for quite a few days now.

1st - To each their own.  If you like SS books, or think they deface the cover - that is everyone's personal opinion.  Why bash someone else's collecting habits just because you don't agree with theirs?  Aren't we all on these boards because we all love comics in the 1st place?

2nd - Pertaining to Stan Lee signed books.  Some of us forget how important he is/was to comics as a whole.  He was a very humble and honest man.  He wasn't stricken by greed, and he never let fame get to him.  Heck, He was willing to go to cons up until his death just to show his appreciation for the fans!  Sure, some of his sig placements suck, but you have to consider that he was basically used as a signature machine.  Ask Yourselves - Would you have been signing books into your late 80's for the fans?  Most of us wouldn't - to be honest...

3rd - If you are against SS Books, are you also forgetting that SS books result in premium prices paid?  These SS books that some are complaining about, are what's partly driving up your non slabbed books' prices.  IE: the trickle down effect.  Do you think your non slabbed books would be worth as much if SS books never existed?  Same can be said in regards to raw vs slabbed.  Slabbed books increase the values for everyone's raw books as well.

I decided to write this, because I feel bad that some are bashing Stan for something he did to show his appreciation for the fans.  Yes, I agree.  - Some of his sig placements are horrible, and make the covers look bad, especially the phrases, - but you also have to consider who Stan Lee was, what he did for comics as well as pop culture, and that Stan Lee SS books command premium prices - like it or not.

We're all here because we love comics!  Don't hate on others' collecting choices/opinions!  To each their own!

  5. As a seller on eBay, I just make sure to look over the slab's condition when posting pics and I make sure to mention any problems with the slab in my listing description.

Then if someone purchases a slab where the listing description mentions said flaws in the slab - I make sure to message the buyer and get an acknowledgement from them before I ship it out.

It's probably not the perfect way, but I see it as a way to help myself out in case the buyer tries to scam me for slab imperfections/ partial refunds once they get the book in hand.

eBay usually ALWAYS sides with the buyer, so sellers must protect themselves in any way they can.

I only ship books $1500 or under to Canada with FedEx.  FedEx is the only option that offers signature confirmation, I believe.  someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.  USPS DOES NOT offer signature confirmation with international shipments.  I also send cheap slabs to Canada in the $20 - $250 range with USPS First Class and MAKE SURE to purchase 3rd party shipping insurance in case there are problems.

  6. The prices for raw books have been crazy lately.  - Crazy as in the prices of a raw books are selling for the same amount as slabs.  I guess those long tat's are helping out raw book values...

Just be careful when selling your raw books on feebay.  You may have to deal with returns 29 days later because buyers are taking advantage of the 30 day money back guarantee, even if the listing states no returns.  feebay is also not dispersing funds to many sellers until 30 days later after the sale.

I'm sure there's people on the boards with even better advice/knowledge.  Just my 2c

    What's silly?

Way back when, 9.8's were around $250, I bought a 9.6 double cover of that issue moon knight1 lol

So now I dont even know how to price it... is it worth what 9.8's go for? I mean lol

I bought the one that cost more that is now worth less doh!

I would price that at or above 9.8 prices IMO.  Double covers are very rare and collectors seem to be finally realizing it now.  I bet you could get it pressed to a 9.8 easily, since CGC takes the best grade from either cover.  Nice book!  If you got that pressed to a 9.8, also taking into account that Moon Knight is still far away from Disney Plus (sometime in 2022) - that book will keep going up in value due to the fact that most of us will never be able to pay the nosebleed prices for his 1st appearance.

  8. Please add: werpyman

Won a CGC 9.6 Iron Fist #14 in 7 day auction for $1675.  Seller cancelled 4 hours after paying and stated "missing"

Anyone else have an Iron Fist #14 CGC 9.6 White Pages that they want to sell to me?

I think the new slabs might allow for some comics to shift inside the case a lot more than before. Damage to the edges or corners could happen if there is a strong enough impact during shipping. This happened to me on a recent HA auction purchase. The book was scanned in the new CGC slab in high resolution. So when it arrived in the mail it was clear that the book had shifted in the case at some point during shipping and handling and had been damaged since the damage was not in the HA scan. There was a thread about this.

If that was the case, his books would have all been graded at 9.6 -9.8.  The damage occured PRE-GRADING or possibly the box was dropped by a grader themselves.

It looks like the "Condition" field is no longer required. The red asterisk is removed, and I was able to post a listing without the error. Granted, the system kept kicking me back to my listing without confirmation that it posted, but it does look to have posted correctly.

Just spet the last hour troubleshotting and also with incompetent ebay customer service.

Also, I changed my user name, and the dumb system wont even let you use cpital letters in your new name!

Why are we paying 12.5% seller's fees again?

Just frustrating where customer service has gone was it always this bad and I just didn’t notice or has a year of zoom meetings and being away from people changed our attitudes on things

It's gold ol' corporations nickeling and diming us.  And it's getting increasingly worse!  IMO, trying to make 1% extra profits at the expense of happy customers is a recipe for disaster in the long term.  Especially considering how much competition there is.  And Yes, FedEx sucks the most!

I've had so many of the exact same problems with FedEx as you are experiencing!  I truly hope FedEx fails in the long run!  Their customer service is the worst out of all the big shipping companies!

  12. Thanks.

I really am pulling for You and Your site!  I was just saying that trying to find the button to see the graded comics - was hard to find on the Home Page...

I would just place a banner or some kind of big bright text on the main page - saying that MySlabs is now in graded comics...

"Welcome to the Machine".  "Time" to make "Money" for "Us and Them"!

Sorry I sounded a little too critical.  I have "Brain Damage"
