  1. Amazing collection - SC4, 17 and 22 are three of my favorite DC books!
  2. What are people seeing as far as sales prices for the 2.0-4.0 grades? As GPA is all over the place on this book and AC242.
  3. Happy about the movie - but this is a book I wanted but always put on the back burner and now it looks like I may not get one (unless someone wants to sell one for a decent price )
  4. hmmmmm something tells me a top 10 silver age marvel villains is needed. (1) FF #5 - Doom (2) X-Men #1 - Magneto (3) JIM #85 - Loki (4) ASM #3 - Doc Ock (5) ASM #14 - Green Goblin (6) .............
  5. Hmmm Magneto and Prof X vs the all new all diff Cockrum/Clairmont Xmen... Not denying what Cockrum/Clairmont did to the X-Men wasn't fantastic, but they don't have the building blocks without Professor X and Magneto. Plus Magneto is one of the best Marvel Villains (I am entirely biased here).
  6. I agree GSXM 1 gives us the X-Men which everyone prefers (well at least I do). But come on Magneto and Professor X in X-Men 1 make it such a huge key and ultimately more important that GSXM 1 IMO.
  7. It's interesting how much X-Men 1 seems to fluctuate for people (anywhere from 4 to 9). I understand that its Silver Age impact (at that time) was not as significant, but its effect on the Marvel universe, not to mention dominance of the bronze age (IH 181, GSXM 1, X-Men 94) in my opinion makes it easily the 4th biggest silver-age key - hell I could even put it at number 2. I would be interested to hear why people think a book like TOS 39 or JIM 83 are more important than X-Men 1, as it seems both TOS 39 and JIM 83 only get a bump because of recent movie success. I also don't get TTA 27 being in the top 10 over something like ASM #1 - but that is just my opinion. I get the appeal for Antman, but he was just never a major character. It is interesting to see everyone's thoughts though.
  8. I understand your point on heroes being more important than villains, however, Doom is probably the most important Marvel Villain and to me has a much greater impact than the Submariner. It is also hard to establish the importance of AV4 - since it is not a real first appearance, however, Cap is a flagship character, the storyline is great and it really shaped the entire Avengers series. Perhaps I have it ranked too highly though.
  9. No love for FF48 in the top 15? Gives not only the Surfer but also the incredible Galactus storyline
  10. Agreed it is a lot of personal opinion but that is the fun part
  11. Wondering what everyone thinks are the top ten marvel silver keys in terms of importance/impact. My thoughts: 1) amazing fantasy 15 2) fantastic four 1 3) hulk 1 4) x-men 1 5) tales of suspense 39 6) avengers 4 7) avengers 1 8) amazing spider-man 1 9) journey into mystery 83 10) fantastic four 5
  12. Maybe not the place to ask - but looking at picking up a X-Men 94 CGC 9.0 with white pages - just wondering what a good price is? Looking at a local copy and right now we are discussing and we are at $850 - is that too much or a good deal?
