  1. How many here have multiple copies of some old Thor books? Not talking about graded copies exactly (of which I have zero Thor related ones).

I know I have several while some holes in my early JIM run continue to bother me. Granted-- I'm not talking about nose bleed high grade copies either-- just decent complete readers to fill those holes as a completest.

I'm too dang cheap to pay up for the copies. I would imagine someone has come up with a way to do some horse trading over in the wanted to buy forum probably-- but it seems like not much ever happens over there.

Not sure- part of me is like "just let it go-- you have a ton of books that you already barely read anyway". Anyway-- hope I am not breaking any rules here. I just think that similar minds should try to find a method to help each other out.

If using eBay this is why I strongly recommend the global shipping program.  If a package is held up in customs or denied entry for any reason the issue falls upon eBay and not the seller.  eBay will then make the buyer and seller whole.  Strangely enough, if the package is returned to the US eBay takes it and auctions it under their own account.

This happened last year with a package to Australia where something was purchased from me that was illegal in Australia where it was denied entry at customs.  This also happened last year when packages were in a crawl for a multitude of reasons.

what the heck were you sending that was deemed illegal?

I'm sure many of us are curious

    It’s me. I’m the guy. I chased Godzilla #1.
Of course, it was because I had bought #2 off the racks and was devastated that I missed the first issue. I was 10 or 11 and loved Godzilla. A couple years later, I mail-ordered a #1. I think it was north of $3.
If there’s an argument for #1 or the whole run being undervalued, more than the new movie (though I’m sure that’s the KCC argument) it’s really the Star Wars and Scooby Doo arguments. At some point, the collective collecting psyche decided the 1st comics of these properties (Star Wars fairly recently) ought to be worth a whole lot more due to their durable, cross-generational pop culture status. Godzilla fanhood crosses generations now too; that’s his best shot at becoming a more valuable back issue title.

FWIW, the 24-issue run is a lot of fun: we got Red Ronin, the doofy monsters of Dr Demonicus, Yetrigar the giant Sasquatch (due for a return), a battle with Devil Dinosaur, a battle with the Champions, even a two-part NYC invasion that leads to a slugfest with the FF and Avengers, kind of a homage to FF 25 & 26. I still have my original run, every issue signed by Herb Trimpe. I keep saying I’ll read it one more time and sell it. I keep dragging my feet.

I have Godzilla issues 1, 3, 4, 6, & 8 which I got off the 7-11 rack back in the day.  They are all in really nice shape (I graded them out from 8.0 - 9.0, the #1 an 8.5-- nothing crazy high grade). But just buying the rest to read them seems expensive --  and there in comes the reason I am asking you-- an expert Godzilla collector...

is there a decent TPB that covers all the Marvel Godzilla run without breaking the bank?

  4. and while not on the cover-- my sources show that DD also appears in ASM 18. I've never read that book myself but it might be one of only 8 early issues where he is donning the yellow duds.

Not that I would count that against any collection that had DD 1-6 - a task I have long since given up on. Those may be the only books where he appears in the yellow outfit (not counting reprints like Marvel Tales 11).

Finally got back my Daredevil #6 after being at CGC for 5 months, though glad to have it back! I am 1/2 way there for getting the yellow costume books, I just need issues 3, 4, and 5 and I will have that completed!

Not be to a pain but -- to have a complete set of the yellow costume books-- don't you also need to have ASM 16?

  6. These books are not my type of thing but I would never tell someone else that they should not buy them. If they want them-- go for it.

Also-- they look to be in pretty excellent shape across the board. As for the claim that there are 500 keys-- I would not take that too seriously as a reason to buy a bag (or 18). That part seems like a bit of a con
