@Nick H (UK), I'm not a big fan of pence books, but there is no arguing that you have five excellent books.

You are not alone--- most people have a bias against them because the hobby has that effect on some things.

I like them. They are exotic and have been more places than I have. I know some like to make a big deal and low ball their value-- but I think that might fade eventually- the market will do what it thinks is right. I only have a couple myself but they are fun! And if you think about it-- they are probably more rare as an overall book to the US contemporaries.

First, let me assure you that you never have to worry about "bringing down the thread", just because you share something that is going on in your life.  Your life is real; not the fiction of some comic book.  Your life is important; far more so than talking about comics.  Your life is valuable; more valuable than any comic book could ever be.

You are a well respected and valued member of this community and I am thankful you feel comfortable enough here to share your current situation.  This is a place where people should be able to share both the "highs" and "lows" of their REAL lives.  If we are only here to talk about fantasy and about our latest acquistion (the conquest of obtaining a grail or whatever), then this is not the place for me.

In short, thank you for sharing and showing us that we need to remember those who may be walking through a valley right now.   To each of us, those valleys come and we must remember to encourage those who are there now, for it is almost certain that we too will be there at times.

I wish there was something I could do to make this Christmas time better for you.  You do a lot for the boards and are very special.  My heart goes out to you during these trying times.

Thanks for the reply. I do feel like this board and some others I am on are like an extended family of friends. It can be be very cathartic to let those things be heard.

Cash in. Some goes to my bank account, some goes to other books. Yes, I am in the middle of organizing. It is a project.  But I have the comics in about 400 square feet of space, so it is a challenge moving around. Plus my wife inevitably screams at me to stop organizing in order to do endless household chores. To be clear, 98% of the Batman themed books are separated in boxes. I still find a stray batman in unsorted boxes, but Batman was pulled a long time ago. Ditto with most big marvel characters.

I recall you tales of trying to get things sorted out before so I was sort of concerned. Was I close on the size of the task (30k books)? I cannot imagine having so many comics!

And I too would jump at the chance to cash in on what I feel is an obscure Batman book that is getting way more money than any one should probably pay. Ahh-- the joy of being primarily a Marvel collector (save the short box of Kirby 4th world). Heck-- I sold my extra copy of Ms Marvel for some decent money - people are a little crazy on some things.

    Good luck on the hunt!

I probaly have 1000 Batman comics (all related titles) spread out over several boxes and I have everything around this. Multiples! But not this (I am halfway through looking)

Maybe you need to work on organizing your books so finding anything isn't such a clusterfork. I mean I know you have a crapload of books from what you've said before but having no method of keeping them in order is costing you so much time every time you think you have some book. Easy for me to say since I have under 2000 books while you have something like 30K or around that.

The bigger question though is what is the plan if you find some copies of Bats 313-- are you trying to cash in on them while the book is hot?

Any Space Ranger fans out there?  What's up with his space helmet?  It doesn't even cover his nose and mouth.  I don't think it would be helpful out in the cold vacuum of space.

I don't know these stories but what about how this Myra character doesn't need any mask at all? Is she an alien or something. These books are intriguing. Is there a TPB or something that covers the space ranger tales?
