  1. Lots of color breakers for a modern book. I wouldn't guess more than 8.0 on this one.
  2. Color breaking creases top, color breaking creases right, multiple small tears top, multiple tears right, moderate impact to spine corners top/bottom, multiple moderate color breaking creases spine, at least one rusted staple. 4.5-5.0 for me. I would absolutely walk away from grading. A Mylar and board would be a good home for this one!
  3. 7.5, maybe 8.0. Lots of issues with the spine, rough corners and it looks like there might be a few scuffs.
  4. I'm at 8.0-8.5 with the color breaker in the middle of the spine. Unfortunate...nice looking book.
  5. No sure if this will be of any help... I've had two issues buying books on ebay. The first was a book I suspected of being trimmed. I contacted the seller and explained the situation. He asked for pictures. I provided many... some with a ruler showing the issues. They agreed with my assessment and offered a substantial partial refund. I accepted. Considering the cost of return shipping, I feel we both made out ok. The second was a low grade book that featured a relatively complete narrative of visible defects. Of course there were the infamous "I am not a pro grader" and the "look at the pictures and judge for yourself" clauses, followed by the assertion "I believe this book is an estimated grade of 2.0". I paid a premium for the book even at 2.0, banking on the improvements that I felt were possible with CPR. Upon receiving the book, I found interior water staining that was not disclosed or included in the pictures. I contacted the seller and again sent pictures of the defect. The seller admitted he missed the defect and immediately suggested a mutually beneficial partial refund. I did tell him I wanted the book. He offered a low initial refund amount and I countered much higher. We met some where in the middle. We both lost a little...and gained a little, but came out ok in the end. Just a thought...
  6. Modern Fast Track went to "Grading/Quality Control" today 6/14. That's 15 business days not counting Memorial Day. Standard Tier still at "Scheduled for Grading".
  7. Derek sold me a kick book at a great price and worked with me to make it happen. This guy is 100%! The deal went down smooth as silk. Packaging was bomb-proof and shipping was lightning quick. I vote Derek for boardie of the year!
  8. So, I guess maybe this is a better way to explain it and maybe I was assuming. It seems that if you submit online, no "received". But, if you fill out a paper submission form "received" status can occur.
  9. Yes, I recently learned that "received" still applies to con submissions and apparently CCS as well. Shipped books move straight to "scheduled for grading".
  10. I'm in the 5.0-5.5 camp. Stains are tough.
  11. Heavy spine stress. Rounded corners and Heavy impact blunting. Large color breaking crease through the Lizard's coat. I'm thinking 3.5.
  12. That's where I'm at. Possibly some water damage/tide lines back cover. Stain back cover. General moderate/heavy spine stress. 3.0 IMHO.
  13. I'm going higher with a press and a clean. Its 7.0 for me.
  14. Yes. Mine was 8 business days. Delivered 5/13 recieved/scheduled 5/23.
  15. I think you'll get a 4.0-4.5 with a press and clean. Lower without.
  16. I see some pressable defects. 4.0 to 4.5 for me.
