I hear you, but I have a feeling this time will be different because this auction is the first whereby there will be only two days of OA auctions and I think a lot of folks will forget about that

hmmmm...I dunno. This auction has some incredible material, not to mention it also has items from the David Mandel Collection,  Denis Kitchen Collection, and Death of Superman stuff. Me thinks collector are biding their time.

Wow, that is a pretty low price for that page!  Maybe one can justify it because Morpheus isn't in the page, but it's a key page.

I'm pretty sure this one sold via CaF a few months ago. I believe the asking price was $23K.

Did McFarlane ever reply or put out a statement? Not only did he choose an AI winner, that was not supposed to be allowed, but the AI winner is a complete Jag representing himself and the brand he's supposedly representing in the worst way possible

I don't think he has responded. There are definitely some complaints.

I don't think so.  The offerings seem to be heavily from the first story arcs and artists, with a couple of pieces here and there from later stories.  Depending on what story appealed to you, there is probably still a lot of potential interest.

I agree. There's only one issue # 1, with a set amount of pages.

  5. There were solid/weak mixed results with the items I was tracking. I was the underbidder on the Michael Turner Witchblade piece. It's a beautiful image, but a tad on the smaller size (6" X 8"), which ultimately stopped me from bidding any higher. Congrats to the winner!!! I hope the buyer did their due diligence and realized the art is from 2002, not 1997, as stated in the description.  Either way, it's a lovely piece.

I won the bidding for that at $250 and just realized I had not heard from the artist after the closing of the auction, I checked his page, it's now unavailable at $475. lol

Oh well, best of luck to the guy in the Spawn contest. (shrug)

    My high bid:

The auction results from Google Cache two days after the auction close:

Im curious, Did you pay for the piece?

They're talking about Bechara Maalouf at Nostalgic Investments, I don't have any major issues in dealing with him beyond like one or two quibbles. Ill probably buy something off him in Summer at NJ.

I had my "quibbles" with him as well in the past. Definitely off putting, but not enough where I would never buy from him. I've also had my disagreements with the San Mateo brothers, but I've never shut that door either. Like Cain and Able, one brother is better than the other one.
