Think clobber previously reported Heritage had an ASM 1 cgc 8.5 o-w pgs w/ a buy it now price of $10k after it did not originally sell in early Dec/02.

How'd u get such a cool surname like Paradox?

In the late 70s, Gerry Ross walked off w/ my friends Planet 1, Supe 2 & other semi-keys. Comics were shipped to him for 3rd party grading. The bks were shipped registered fr Vancouver, BC to Ross in Canada, but no signature was ever given to prove receipt of the bks even though they were delivered. Perhaps Ross would trade his postman some comics to look the other way regarding proof of delivery.

There must be money in incomplete bks. About 5 interior pgs to Superman story fr Action 1 were being sold individually on ComicLink each in their mylar. May have been consigned to Heritage/N Cage auction. Not sure if they sold thru.

Hulk 141 b/c it rhymes w/ Hulk #181 & is easy to remember. #141 (7/71) 1st Doc Sampson.

They should press them into Official Cgc frisbees for promo at the big comicons. Try to get a 10.0 mylar frisbee. O yeah.

How about memorable splash pg headlines like silver FF #60? w/ S Surfer "If this be Doomsday" or Avengers 58 "Even an Android can Cry." Or the overused Battle/Clash of the Titans (Teen Titans by Perez non-baxter format) or silver Marvel.

There seems to be no premium put on unverified comic bk creator signatures. Less chance of forgery compared to sports heroes' signatures. How do u prove a bk was REALLY signed by J Kirby unless u were standing in front of him when he signed. A lot of the J Kirby portfolios in the later yrs where signed by his wife for Jack. At least she IS a Kirby.

Signature series is good for authentification of Stan Lee & other signatures. Anyone w/ a computer printer & some software can create their own Cert. of Authenticity in their basement & say this comic was "officially" signed by creator (e.g. Kaluta, G Perez, Wrightson, etc.)

Evidence that the non-cgc mkt is in a bubble or the Apocalypse is just around the corner after the Heritage Oct/02 auction.

It is generally cheaper to buy orig art fr eBay rather than via big auction. No 12-15% juice + higher pro shipping & handling charges. Canuck comic collectors complain about 7% gst tax on incoming comics, but orig art collectors must contend w/ 14.5% taxes on incoming art to BC. Some countries in Europe have 30% importation tax on incoming artwork. Nasty.

Even if u had a portable black light, u won't be able to catch all the color touches or reinforcement that cgc can w/ their black light scan bed.

Canada is a real backwater for comics. Full of hillbillies & bankrupt comicshop store stock. Even more bankrupt comic warehouses in the Seattle, WA/Portland, OR area. Where else can u pick up nm bronze or unread run of Strawberry Ewok Droids (Star) for WAY less than Overstreet?

Detect 100 pgr w/ N Adams front cvr & Adams' nasty Werewolf gets impaled by a lightning rod story. Possibly inked by N Adams too.

Of that trilogy, I would vote for FF 50 as best cvr w/ a large central figure of S Surfer against a charcoal dark brown cover & spine.

U must kow tow b4 Metropolis b/c they have 3-10 copies of every bk in stock. Their catalog was incredible 10 yrs ago. BEST inventory.

Vinnie's younger & friendlier trying to boost up Metropolis web & con sales. Fischler was Master of the NY neg attitude, u peon.

Talk about conflict of interest. Susan Ciccone did the best resto work 12 yrs ago & was buddy buddy w/ Fischler. Then Sotheby's recruits the best restorer in the business to identify resto (her own included) in all those gold & silver bks for the big Sotheby's auctions 10 yrs ago. But back then, SLIGHT resto was readily accepted b/c a comic in a mylar looks the same as its neighbor. Now Heritage & new Sothebys.ebay auctions need to contend w/ the dreaded purple label & lack of bids. No wonder Nic & the other big bidders fr 10 yrs ago r peeved.

BW Smith Red Nails story. Can't remember if it originally came out in Savage Tales or Savage Sword mag. Was reprinted in Conan (baxter paper) 1 shot.

Think they reprinted FF 51 in a squarebound bk compiling the Best Marvel comics/stories of all time.
