Keep in mind, only about 10% of the general admission is interested in buying back issues. Rest want a pop culture/toy show and cosplay contest for family fun. I wish this show every success on it's expansion in their 2nd year. Surprised that their large artist alley and guest list takes up say 100 tables for 120 guests.

I heard the vendors broke even on the Sat. on the raw costs of their tables. Sunday was empty in terms of attendance. Admission at the gate was a bit high last year for Kelowna market. Go if you want fresh peaches, apricots that weekend. Good Greek food in Kelowna.

If you are talking about the Steranko collectibles, he still has quite a bit of it as he owned Mediascene mag and Supergraphix (print) Publishing.

Picked up this unusual Our Army at War today that has dinos vs cavemen cover and story:

I am surprised one can search and resurrect a thread that is 15 years old.

I wonder if Cradle is supposed to be spelt Cray-DL like a deluxe Cray supercomputer based in USA that borrowed Ford's consciousness to become self-aware and is sending out code to refute the humans/ soldiers trying to regain control of the Delos Project ?

Westworld season 2 so far more confusing due to time shifts (a la 'Lost') than season 1. Do we assume Anthony Hopkins's character is always a human in the time stream or did they interject a Ford-bot since season 1 finale (episode 10) had the main architect of Westworld shot in the head while on stage in front of humans by Delores ? At least they clarified origin of the Man in Black.

Steve Geppi closing Museum:Donating Collection to Library of Congress
aardvark88 replied to Ares's topic in Comics General
When I was visiting with 2 buddies, it seemed well curated being in historical sequence with some monstrous original art hanging like Barks, Frazetta, Alex Raymond, etc. Saw lots of BLB's and most comic keys there about 8 years ago. Some promo GA flyers, GA production items, SA Batman tv props . Wonderful. -
Gobbledygook is first TMNT #1 ad. Low print run zine; may be counterfeits out there.

That USA rate sounds awfully cheap. In my part of Western Canada, home owner's insurance wants an extra 5% of the estimated value of one's collection yearly. Then think about having the long boxes insured for 20+ years makes me sick at that high a rate.

Modern ASM: A study in Lameness or why Disney sucks
aardvark88 replied to NP_Gresham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I am bothered by the fact that the cover price to ASM #800 is a lofty $9.95 US for a non-square bound, floppy comic. Then add the higher retail prices for your Variant cover of choice plus tax! -

Yes, there seemed to be a flaw in his business model for the GEM when I visited about 8 years ago. In the afternoon, there were the 3 of us collector/fans, 1 cashier and 1 security guard for the entire museum near the harbor of Baltimore, MD. Lots of room to take pics of paper collectibles and tv props though. -
Crazy Run up on price than crash and burn. And I mean BURN!

Yes, I recall seeing these warehouse finds (e.g. Capt Inapak with Powell art, and Capt Gallant Heinz promo comic) in stacks 25 years ago and even last year at USA cons. -
Sorry, I believe Byrne is only signing and promoting the Star Trek graphic novel in conjunction with fellow Canadian Wm Shatner. Which means no sigs on X-men, FF, Iron Fist, Marvel Team Up, Wheelie Chopper Bunch 1 & 3, Charlton's Doomsday +1, Emergency #1, E-man back up Rog-2000, Dark Horse Comics, DC, etc.

Chaykin's #2 from 1988 contains the re-intro of Lady Blackhawk: -
OK, was able to prepay for 3 Ultimate/Torpedo con tix from a different computer. The Ultimate Show site seems to be working well to accept international payments now.

There were only about 22 ppl total in my deluxe 3D with Ultra-sound theater for the 1st Sat. matinee of Solo. Now that it is sunnier on the weekends, guess the parents are keeping the kids at home for a bbq? Still I give solo 8 out of 10, as I liked the twist and turns with Beckett and Chy'ra. Nice to see Paul Bettany (Marvel's Vision, Priest) get solid lines and action. Seemed like quite a lot of dark, muddy filmed scenes of special FX.

...First Trip to a Comic Book Shop (1977)
aardvark88 replied to picon3's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Since I spent my allowance on chocolate milk, I had almost no spare change for a 20c new comic. My first trade was to my buddy in grade 2 that took place in neutral territory: school playground. Gave up my ASM # 121, as I disliked Spidey/Peter Parker, straight across for a nice Capt America 111 for Steranko goodness. Hindsight, not a good trade in terms of book value but I was such an art snob at 7 years old ! -
Maybe collector/fans just need a break btwn so many 'quality' sci-fi or fantasy movies (Black Panther, Avengers 4, Deadpool 2) and streaming tv series: Star Trek: Discovery, Lost in Space, Westworld season 2, Krypton with Brainiac.

... but a forumite already posted that 'there is no animal being milked' in Solo, thus should be safe for yee eyes and fragile Force sensitivity. greggy is looking forward to the Jedi-mind meld.

Yes, villians in season 1 Krypton episodes 9, 10 and inner-battles better. Overall Krypton's scheming villians better than in downloadable Space Family Robinson rebooted series.

I like them thick and chunky like my burgers:

7.5 out of 10. Would say Deadpool #1 was better with it's abundance of in-jokes even though the middle credits bonus /preview nailed it. Glad Cable had more dialogue and choice spcl FX than Thanos. Don't think I saw a Stan Lee cameo although this is a Fox Studios movie instead of Marvel Entertainment.

... and sell their one t-shirt press via kijiji or Craigslist.

Good monologue jokes delivered by Ryan Reynolds/Deadpool in place of Stephen Colbert. Not as surprising as an acrobatic Deadpool on stage with Celine Dion whaling away.
