  1. Sunday's retail sales were as flaccid as greggy. Hotels a bit spendy averaging $175/night during peak summer weekend in Kelowna. Fine variety of wineries to visit in West Kelowna for your spouse who will surely spend more $$ on vino than you do restocking comics. Watch out for smoke from wild fires plus the hwy near Sicamous was closed for over 3 hours so some vendors arrived very late for Friday dealer set up. About 8 hr drive from Calgary so farther from Edmonton. Kelowna expo had a very nice Walking Dead and Stargate display plus co-sponsorship from Kelowna library.
  2. Shenanigans. You quoted me $300 US on the GA Subby recreation cover but friendlier Albertans with the secret handshake get art at $300 loonies? I can do basic math thanks to Smart phone app.
  3. "Only" 5 days of driving each way to /from Toronto. Just park your van overnight at Wal-marts across Canada and sleep on top of your long boxes. Use 5 Cgc slabs as your pillow of dreams.
  4. Dearest Andy: Please show Harley some hospitality by lending him a strip of very strong Canadian duct tape to repair the bottom rail of his wombat that bent in half.
  5. How much for the GA Sub-mariner Comics #10(?) cover recreation? You have such nice taste Andy.
  6. Does Fan Expo charge extra for the black skirting that is usually on the 8' or 6' long vendor's tables? Recommend you recycle your old Popeye bed sheets as a table cloth.
  7. I recommend you feed your sons more than Buddhist vegetables to build up their upper body muscles to help you lift long boxes and heavy Cgc boxes, as you become aged. Say hello to Evan C from CanadianComics.net visiting Toronto for the first time to attempt to restock. Andy: have a great show!
  8. Cover is better designed from a comic book perspective than Suspense Comics #3, as collectors usually prefer space/rocket themes compared to KKK, and is about $130,000 less in top slabbed shape. Low Cgc census #s on both classic cover issues.
  9. Sheesh. Is Blue Bolt #105 the next Terrific #5? L.B. Cole vs Schombourg. cLink has Blue Bolt #105 Cgc 9.8 at close to $38k and Cgc 9.2 missing a page at $3,111 closing later today.
  10. Any Atlas or SA DC in that new collection you bought?
  11. First time I ever saw a comic press close up from Victoria, BC: Bought a 2 page original from Diana Greenhalgh of X-men: Apocalypse computer colored print where she had inked in the central X-men characters and villian for a nominal price.
  12. Kelowna Expo show will grow next year so I recommend you and your buddy join in the fun in summer, 2019 (dates to be announced). Highlight was my booth 'Comic Adventures:' No food trucks until summer, 2019 Expo. 45 min line up for nachos for lunch. ATM ran out of funds after Sat. Free parking. New customers, friendly folk from Kelowna, Penticton, Sicamous, Abbotsford, and tourist from England who bought a SA DC. No shoplifters, and Sunday attendance flat-lined compared to Sat. per usual trend for a 1st time 2 day Expo in a relatively small city.
  13. bump. Kelowna Expo added a My Little Pony voice actor to their media guest list. Starting to pack the mini-van.
  14. I think you meant "executor" of your friend's will. Typo.
  15. Recommend you watch out for the fires and smoke around Kamloops, BC. Suggest Golden Age Collectables in downtown Vancouver, BC but greggy already grabbed all the good stuff. Still you may be able to fill part of your want-list. Calgary has smoke too from the BC forest fires raging. Forest City Coins in Ontario. fyi, gas costs much more in Canada compared to USA.
  16. It does seem like most kids under 16 know all about Riverdale tv characters. Dilton Doyle is played by a teen Canadian-Chinese actor hoping to get more screen time on the series that seems primarily filmed in North Vancouver, BC.
  17. Was McLaughlin the SDCC dealer that if you dared make a counter-offer to, he would pull the vintage comic back so 'No comic for you?'
  18. fyi, Mysterio has been announced as Tom Holland's ASM's next movie villian.
  19. fyi, this copy was bought raw from SDCC and remained in a Vancouver, BC collection for over 25 years.
  20. Sorry, we were too busy elbowing all the other dealer/buyers out of the way while scrambling through other vendor's wall inventory during dealer set up. Besides, since I have the strongest inventory at the con and like to smile, the collector/flippers will wait for me to set up my wares. Many collectors squinting at raw comics looking for pressable defects $$.
  21. Depends on the average age of the population in one's city. e.g. If the avg age in Edmonton or Calgary is 34 years old then there will be more teenagers and collector/fans to support up to 10 hobby stores. Compared to Vancouver, BC or Victoria, BC where the avg age may be 44 years old, these old fogeys are low ballers and completed most of their collections 10 years ago but are still trying to restock keys and semi-keys for pressing and flipping. The Vancouver and suburban area only has about 7 'comic' shops left: 1 which should have closed 2 years ago and only seems to be open in the evenings with no gaming; other is primarily a model kit shop with sideline in mass media comics like Star Trek, MLP My Little Pony, blow out back issues.
  22. Will you be selling a Bat-woman cover pulp?
