  1. Are we going to talk about the birthing scenes in this show? I have no issue with beheadings or dismemberment shots but I squirm during these sequences. It’s freaking messed up.
  2. Yes a lot of people have had similar complaints. FYI this season is just a glorified prologue to get all the players on the board for a civil war. Before the finale the jumps are done and I don’t think we will see this in the second season. It’s not intended to be a long, drawn out story like GoT. I guess I had the expectation of these jumps so it didn’t bother me much but I get what you are saying.
  3. Solid trailer! Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was a perfect selection.
  4. Finally was able to finish the season last night. I thought it was a bit slow in parts but overall it was very well put together and I look forward to the next season.
  5. It’s aggressive for sure and I did wonder at the time how Rhaenys made it thru and thought Meles might have smashed the ceiling with her tail first? It fell within my suspension of disbelief and it was such a cool visualization so I have no problem with it. Not to mention how freaking bad Eve Best looked in her armor!
  6. I have zero sympathy for GRRM. The fact he can’t apply himself to finish books has nothing to do with a television series. Not to mention the absolute mountain of cash he has been paid for these projects.
  7. Great ending! It was sick seeing Rhaenys put the smack down.
  8. It going to be awesome to see how it plays out between these 2.
  9. Disney did a great job on this one. I hope they do something similar next Oct with another monster special.
  10. Our family had this on VHS and I must have watched it about 8,000 times. It was so different and almost bizarre, compared to the Rankin/Bass Hobbit. It was so frustrating that the story was not continued.
  11. I’m not sure who else was cut with it but Viserys says that it belonged to Aegon the Conqueror and then someone before that I believe. I actually have only read part of the first GoT series but I listen to a couple great podcasts. If you have the time, I highly recommend the Baldmove series. For each episode that airs they do a 20 min or so instant take, then 2 more pods later in the week that are usually a couple hours each. They did this with the original series and I found them around season 3 or 4. One of the hosts, Aaron, has even co-written a book about all the religions in Westeros and of course has read all the books so you get a very detailed walk thru and direct comparison of show to book by a someone who is very well steeped in the lore of Westeros. No doubt that listening to these pods makes the shows so much better.
  12. Yup. It’s the same dagger that was used to attack Bran in Winterfell and then used to kill the Night King.
  13. I think that a very large portion of the blame should fall on GRRM. He did not hold up his end of the bargain to finish the dang books before the show caught up with them. Pretty much where they pass the written source material it starts to degrade. I agree the showrunners didn’t do a good job but Benioff and Weiss signed up to adapt Martin’s story, not write it for him.
  14. Episode 9 of S6 is pretty awesome, I’m sure you will like that. And actually Episode 7 of S6 has one of the best cold open scenes of the series imo.
