  1. Are there any SW variants worth picking up for long term? My LCS has a short box full of them, from the initial run to current. Lots of the off series like Han solo, Poe, Leia etc

The only obvious one to me is Vader 3, anyone else have any picks I should look for?

  2. I would rather they numbered them at this point, as in sports cards. For instance have a stamped number on the cover 269/1500 or whatever. Issue number would be worth a bump, etc. At least there would be hard numbers on how many copies are out there rather than get owned by a random case at diamond.

Keep showing pictures of pretty girls on pulps and I might have to stop selling my pulp collection.

To think 95% of those painting ended up in the trash. So sad.

It's a tragedy they got trashed :( I would love to visit a museum that displayed these Modern Art classics.

This run has some awesome covers, including this incredible Virgil Finlay.

Years ago I bought a TOS 58 from a guy and he sent me a TOS 59. Got in touch with him and he lived just outside my town. I asked if he had anything else for sale and ended up leaving with these...

Yes, it's more affordable stuff under $50, but then again, I don't have much more expensive stuff listed and I have nothing that's expensive (over $200).

What's "market"?  Why wouldn't you want to get FMVish?

When I price for a fixed price listing I look at the top few sales of similar books and briefly look at asking prices, but don't weigh them that much unless there is very little of the issue out there.  When I evaluate an offer I look at a larger number of sales and would like to be at least in the middle of those sales prices.  If someone is making offers on 5 or 6 books and/or they are a repeat customer, I have more wiggle room.  I love sticking 6 books in a box!

Completely agree, I was just using FMV as a starting place for a percentage to go off of.

Edit and by FMV I mean what the book is selling for recently on ebay/gpa

1st demon, nova, firestorm, spiderwoman, rom, deathlok, ..#1s like moon knight, black panther, old man logan books,

Other than the WOlverines, I do not believe anything (all raw) was listed as better than 8.5-9.0

The bronze age books have been mostly 20-25 cent cover price in the 8.0 - 9.2 vicinity, some picture frames

Mind you, were these at my bestest feel good prices?  No, but they were folks buying multiple items, so I was more flexible.

Of course...most of this stuff I paid very little for a while ago, but as I don't stumble into collections, the likelihood of me finding them cheap enough at convention, store, garage sale, or flea market to make a decent margin again is slim.

Is it a specific price range people are going after, like $25-30 books? Or a specific percentage off FMV? I have tons of those type of books in vf range that I would be happy to get 50% market.

I had announced this in the Heritage thread when I won it, however it arrived today so I guess it is 'officially' mine.  This is a page from the very first Indiana Jones comic, Raiders of the Lost Ark #1.  The comic book movie adaptation was originally printed as Marvel Super Special 18 and later reprinted as Raiders of the Lost Ark 1-3.  While I already had a page from the original series as well as a couple of pages from Marvel's continuation title, The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, this was my grail piece of Indiana Jones art.  This is the infamous running from the boulder scene which is arguably the most identifiable moment of the franchise.  When it came up for auction on Heritage, I knew I would be a strong contender for it.

This is in the black hole collection and once my house is finished, it will be framed and put on the wall.

    Congrats! :golfclap:
