  1. 144 boxes! Damn. That's a lifetime right there. If you have the time to split everything up and sell it off individually you will most likely profit from this. Either way it's cool to see so thanks for posting.
  2. wishful thinking mistake on the part of the seller.
  3. Good read on the bay: https://www.racked.com/2017/10/16/16473414/ebay-online-shopping-resale
  4. Sorry to hear about your loss! Thanks for sharing this though, while we see things on the news or whatever yours was a very personal contribution that gets through the noise and hits home.
  5. Good questions. Yes, they are magazine sized so you need to go with that tier. You'll have to pay for Walk-thru service since the value will be most likely more than $1000. Signatures on the interior, where they originally signed them back in the 80's generally will be a blue label.
  6. The #1 looks very much like a real 1st print. Things to look for, darker red cover than 3rd print, Dover NH address, Gobbledygook ad, newsprint inner pages, yellowish hue to middle of inside front cover - very common with this book, comes from newsprint on glossy surface
  7. He was reading way too many comic books. Only in NY. Gotta love this town.
  8. Back in the day, I traded a Dark Knight #1, along with some other keys of the day (late 80's), for my friend's IH 181. At the time the value was equal. Since then I've done well with that trade.
  9. I still see views. They did change everything around recently (again) and the seller portal is now more customizable so maybe the views is off to the right or you have to re-select that column.
  10. Saw this in the Daily News. Crime does not pay. Nor does going to obvious places to sell stolen merchandise.
  11. They do appear to be more vigilant about this, their revenue took a hit recently so they're all over it. The reason their revenue tanked isn't off-ebay deals though so they're fixing a pimple while a severed artery is right next to it. Amazon must be taking their business since buying new things is always more desirable than buying used (perception is ebay is used items mostly). On top of that, they recently raised the store fees and lowered the incentives. It's not the way to encourage more business on ebay.
  12. If you have top rated + status and want to keep your discount, yes. If you don't have top rated + status and don't care about attaining it, then just keep your listings open.
  13. Ok so you got dinged once for it by an overzealous (and likely bored) postal employee. Try another PO. The point was that the overall theme is "Here is our policy. We rarely enforce it for slightly ambiguous items like comics." I've shipped Media Mail for years and had one box out of hundreds come back to me. It was not packaged well and probably tore open (my mistake) and that's what led to the return-to-sender with postage due.
  14. Can't stand those kind of buyers but they do exist and selling on ebay one takes the risk of dealing with one every now and then. I had a guy ask me to send him photos of a CGC 9.8 comic I had listed. I responded as to why he would need photos when the one I have is clear and it's a flipping 9.8. He said that many 9.8's aren't and that he wanted to make sure it was worthy of his purchase. I blocked his annoying #$&$ and told him that my book wasn't for him. It sold to an appreciative buyer a week later. In the past I might actually have coalesced to the annoying guy but now I know life is too short.
  15. Keep 1 book you really like. Then pack the rest up and print out a free label at http://givebackbox.com where your donation goes to a charity nearby. Mine goes to Goodwill and I cannot tell you how great it is to be able to donate items so easily. I give things all the time.
  16. I would use a function like that...or at least to block the repetitive listings I see that are annoying for whatever reason. Another ebay thing that annoys the *#& out of me is when you look at a sold listing, you have to click on it again to actually see the sold listing. They want to just sell you something similar instead of showing you what you want to see.
  17. Ah ok. thanks. Love the set, they look great altogether. Turtles books from the original 4 issues and alternates have an eye appeal nothing compares to. We'll see how they grade!
  18. can you post a link? I don't see these on Comic Link.
  19. 1200 copies is a pretty large sample size. That again mirrors what Chuck was claiming.
  20. Then you're just a little too sensitive. You can't be criticized, see only my comments and not your "pal" who you jump to defend (no matter how wrong) and I'm the one who is out of line. Sure. If you're that touchy then don't respond to my comments. Take a look at yourself and your own condescendingly wrong nonsense before you cast stones.
