  1. I bought a copy of TWD Philadelphia Wizard World and it came back as a 9.6
  2. They're possible, but extremely rare. Most people consider 9.8 to be "perfect" and a 9.9 or a 10 "perfect with frosting".
  3. So my four books I'm getting done with my Coupons might actually be done in 15 days?
  4. I'm really thinking of getting the graders' notes to see what was noticed on the Batman #404 and The Walking Dead #1.
  5. So if I send four books with coupons (15 day TAT) and two normal slow track, will they hold the order until the normal ones "catch up" or will I get them in batches?
  6. Couldn't be happier. The Wolverine was an 8.0 walking in, pressed into a 9.4. The Walking Dead and Batman #29 I bought from boardies here so it's nice to see books come out as well as they did.
  7. Is that "WELCOME HOME" in the newspaper a Joker reference?
  8. Thanks. It's an issue near and dear to me. Apparently the next issue is a CGC Classic Cover with Tojo on the cover. It's all offensive stuff, with stereotypical exaggerated Japanese WWII caricatures. A CGC 4.0 is over $200.
  9. Sentimental pick-up for me as an Air Force veteran, being able to trace the roots of the service from the Signal Corps to the Army Air Corps to the United States Air Force. Next I have to pick up United States Fighting Air Force #1 and US Air Force Comics #1.
  10. I just realized I bought my copy of Star Wars #2 off of you, Chip.
  11. Got a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #41 at an estate sale for $5. It's in 2.0 or 2.5 shape, but for $5 it's worth it.
  12. Found this one in a lot sale longbox. The Twilight Zone #84 from June, 1978. Frank Miller's first professional art in a comic book. I think I'll get it pressed out and hang on to it. For sitting in a long box without a bag or board all these years, it's in pretty damn good shape. Anyone think it would be worth sending to CGC or no?
  13. My latest acquisition: I also picked up a raw copy that's supposed to be NM/M so I might be willing to part with one or the other. I can only imagine that this book is going to pick up steam in the run-up to Avengers 3.
  14. That wasn't his first appearance, that was just when the character got popular.
  15. It seems like second printings have just been the "in" thing to have lately.
  16. I just got off the phone with CGC and they said that current TATs for Moderns are a bit under two months, but they're "getting better". Guess they got a ton of books dropped on them that they're working through.
  17. I got the book today and the bottom is simply a mis-wrap. I was worried that it was a rusty staple as well, but it's the ad on the back of the book wrapping over onto the front cover. Production error. Whew.
  18. So what are the speculators saying that Infinity Gauntlet series could get up to? I have one slabbed in 9.6 and one raw in 9.6/9.8 and I wouldn't mind parting with one of them.
  19. Just send a bottle of vodka in with the book next time. I wonder how workload affects how tightly and how closely the graders scrutinize a book. When CGC has a three-month backlog of Moderns to grade, do they really go out of their way to nitpick every spine tic and blunted corner? Or do they look it over and slab a potential 9.9 or 10 book in a 9.8 holder just to lighten the workload?
