  1. WOW a TMNT 1 7.0 I was watching on ebay sold for over $1500. The bidding looks legit. I wonder if the new series or upcoming movie/tv shows is pushing the midgrades of this book up. I thought the 8.0 on comiclink for over 1500 was a solid price.

I was watching it too! It was a very nice 7.0.

It was under $800 until the last 5 seconds, then it exploded. It looks like there was one shill bid, but the underbidder was legit. Looks like a legit sale to me.

Looks like this book is getting hot right now. There is another CGC 8.0 in the Heritage auction as well. I'm curious what it will sell for too.

I'm feeling even better about the CGC 7.5 I picked up at SDCC this year. I was glad to buy it because I've always wanted a copy, but now I feel like I got a deal too.

Thats a nice pick up. This is a great book to have in any condition(even a 3.0). I dont think its like a marvel silver or bronze age book where the higher grades are the only ones sought after. The prices for TMNT 1 in any grade are more uniform.

  2. I just bought this off eBay and thought for sure I'd get the TPB version. So much so that I asked a ton of questions and even though the seller assured me this was indeed the Turtles HC I kept thinking I was going to get screwed.

Well today it came and it WAS the HC version. So I now have a copy without paying the $100+ price tag! (thumbs u

Excuse the browning stuff on the book. It's still shrink wrapped and my scanner seems to pick it up as a brown dirty color. Rest assured it's a snow white cover in hand.

    very nice

  3. I ignored the auction altogether based on the seller.

    Who was the seller? (shrug)

    Bijoubaby05

There was a pretty lengthy discussion about the seller not too long ago, so when I saw the seller id, I lost interest altogether. This particular auction didn't look suspicious, but I try not to support some of the shadier ebay sellers presented here on the boards.

I dont think these were bijou's I thought they were that "past present future" ebay seller"s. He had these up on ebay.

I might be mistaken since I can't find both auctions, but I think the guy asking about the sale at $3700 was referring to the Bijoubaby auction whereas Pastpresentfuture (with whom I have no issues) had their 9.6Q up for a BIN OBO. Here's the link:

  5. What should it sell for?

The last blue label 9.6 on ebay sold for just under 6k. Based on the green label stigma maybe 5-6k. I have actually noticed an overall drop in TMNT 1 prices over the last year on the high grades like 9.2 and above. I think this will change in a year or so and the high grades will realize strong prices again. Mid and low grades are still selling for strong prices though.

I was following the last sale of the 9.6 as I was curious what it would sell for. It was an Ebay auction. I did not bid and I think there a number of boardies who would not have bid on a book from the seller of this book. I think that is one reason the final price was a bit lower.

IMHO I believe the Blue label should be a $7k book and the Green should go in the $4.5k range. Then again, I have been wrong plenty of times in the past. :makepoint:

I definitely thought the green label would have hit 5k. Sold for $3700. Thats less than the average 9.4.

  8. Anyone know why the "qualified" TMNT #1 on the Pedigree auction is getting no love? I'm serious; is the color green that offensive to prospective owners? It's clearly signed, at least in the interior, by Eastman and Laird. Collectors can be so frustrating sometimes. This is so silly..I mean stupid. :frustrated:

Full disclosure: I do NOT own this copy. ;)

people might be waiting since there is no reserve perhaps?
