Man there was a nice TMNT 4 and 6 CGC 9.8 that went really low on the last Comiclink auction. I hope boardies picked these up.
-
You should be able to get a 7.0 for that price. If youre patient and wait for the right deal you could probably even get a 7.5 for around 1k.

Dear Gator, if I hold off on buying a low grade Captain america comics 1 until next year will I regret it?
-
the faces on the Turtles look very weird on the color covers.
-
Not totally crazy about the artwork, but it sounds like some good passionate work is coming. Plus....RED BANDANAS!
That was my first reaction when I saw the pictures. Although the Eastman variant looks good.

Keep in mind that Gobbledygook has no paperwork. Makes the book a hard sell in my mind. I would expect to buy it at a significant discount from a documented copy...if I was to buy an undocumented copy.
good point.

Book is up on pedigree. 7K buy it now
any ideas on the actual value of that book. Its interesting that it is listed at a higher price than the Gobbledygook 1 which is at 6k buy it now.

Man i got swamped at work and totally forgot the auctions were ending today. I would have been all over the number 2. 2-4 went dirt cheap.
As for the number 1, totally out of my price range but dang what a great buy at that price for the person who picked it up.

I am still waiting for a TMNT number 2-10 to be graded in 9.9. Im actually surprised there are so many 9.8s but absolutely no 9.9s
-
Im setting the over/under on that book at 25k. Lets see how off I am.

9.8 TMNT 1 auction...............will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
-
Even 9.6 copies are pretty affordable if you wait for the right deals.

Sorry about the doubt post. Sideshow announced their Shredder. Discuss!
I like it. They kept the look true to the original comics.

Dear Gator,
I bought 1930 "Mickey Mouse Book" comic a year or two ago. Its kind of fun to own but isnt the usual superhero stuff i collect. So now Im thinking of selling it. Does it have any long term imvestment potential that I should take into account before I decide to sell it?

I have been looking for 9.8 graded copies of TMNT 6 and 9. I never see them surface whereas I see copies of 5,7,8,10 all the time. Does anyone know why 6 and 9 are so tough to find in that grade?

Anyone know of an online source for sales prices of AFA graded toys(specifically transformers) similar to GPA analysis or a toy price guide?
-
wasnt there supposed to be a MG movie?
-
The number 1s in higher grade have taken a little bit of a drop in price. But I think this is temporary. Nickolodean bought the rights to TMNT for a huge sum of money about a year or so ago. They havent done anything with the brand yet, but once they start making shows and movies, the books are going to see another surge.

I know that if you provide something significant about an issue to CGC they tend to denote it. Maybe "first non-Mirage advertisement"

I'm on a huge toy kick now. Fun to get back into that childhood spirit.
One of my all-time favorite Christmas gifts was Optimus Prime.
I've had a few since my childhood. But a boardee just sold me the following. Looking forward to getting it.

Transformers were the best toys. Still have my optimus that I got in 1985, but no longer in the condition in your picture. Nice acquisition. Getting old toys back are great.
I know this is a comic forum but anybody have any interest in getting a section for toys on the forum?

Finally I received grades on my books i've had out
#1 1st print - 7.5 (2 graders 7.5 / 1 grader 8.0) SUCKY! I thought it was 8.5
#1 2nd print - 9.6
#1 3rd print - 9.6
#3 NYCC - 9.2 (I could of swore this would of graded higher 9.4+)
Very nice books. I know those are not the grades you wanted, but still good job (thumbs u
Thanks! Yea, grades could always be better, but I am really happy about the two 9.6's as my whole collection besides 1st print and NYCC are ALL 9.6s.
Question for the professionals.......
1 of the 3 graders claimed 8.0 . Is it worth the risk of resubmitting to try and achieve a 8.0? I truly feel I was robbed on this one. Anyone else that has seen this book thought it too was nothing short of 8.0/5.
I dont know if there is a huge value difference between a 7.5 and 8.0. Keep in mind postage and regrading fees that'll probably add up to $100. If this had a shot at 8.5 it definitaly would be worth the gamble.
Congrats on the 2nd and 3rd prints though. Any print of the #1 that receives a 9.6 is awesome.

This is not a great picture, but the best I have. You can see the first T is a little dirty. The second T looks about the same, but the white is just the slightest bit a different shade of white. I overnighted the book to Matt Nelson to see what his throughts are.
I dont think a little bit of dirt will affect the grade. The hairline scratches may, but I dont know. Im sure Matt will give you a really good idea of the actual grade.

OK, so i need some opinions
I picked up a copy of #1 first print that looks amazing. Its a signed copy and looks far better than my signed 9.4. It would be a 9.6 for sure, other than on thing I see.
The logo seems almost just a little dirty. There is some slight spekles in it and there T and L seem just slightly off white yellow compared to the rest of the logo. It just not does apear that bright white that my 9.4 copy does.
The paper apears to be off-white or off-white to white (I am not very good at grading page quality) and my 9.4 copy is white pages.
I have owned several copies there where all white pages, so I have not noticed this before, but its so slight I dont think I would have noticed if I need not already own other copies.
Do you guys think this is a concern or common due to the newspaper? Will this hurt the grade?
can you post pictures?

Does anyone know why the 9.8 TMNT #1 sale is not listed on GPA?
