  1. Any particular reason why you told her to hold onto it a bit longer? This isn't a book that is driven by any factor (movie, first appearance, etc...) other than it being a rare variant.
  2. Not my money so I'm going to say "awesome" Personally, there are plenty of 9.8 books I'd rather have instead at that price point (but the person who bought that likely will already have those books).
  3. Time will tell. I personally wasn't too impressed with the character (unlike Orion and Kalibak...great story of Darkseid's children). Obviously the Garner variant is rare. But that's apples and oranges (variant vs non variant). Don't get me wrong. I hope this book pops cause I have my copies ready...
  4. Even if Grail shows up in the the movie (which I agree is highly unlikely), who cares? She is a cliche character, she's not an important character, or is she that well known. The books aren't rare and they are readily available. Cool book to have but there are better "movie" characters to collect.
  5. My Kudos: Anthonytheabyss Issue: Amazing Spider-Man #300 CGC 9.4 Signature Series (Todd McFarlane and Stan Lee) Case: Mint (or as close to mint as it can be from CGC) Price: (SOLD) Shipping: US Postal (included in price)...sorry, no international shipments Payment: PayPal Return Policy: 14 days (If there is anything wrong I'll gladly give a full refund) Additional Information: trumps all
  6. That is the worse movie review...ever. Give a rating man! Compare it to other movies! I need to know if I should buy a small or large Icee.
  7. I hate how much a movie impacts the value of a book (both increase and decrease in value). FF #45 is a great book no matter how bad this movie/show might be. But that trailer is hideous.... I don't even consider this a movie. I think of it as a TV show put on a big screen.
  8. Took a while but the two Platt books I wanted in 9.8 condition were finally found (Prophet #4 and UXF #25). Both arrived this week and I could not be happier. Thanks to everybody who made this possible. Moon Knight #55 (1st Platt artwork) Prophet #4 (Variant) Uncanny X-Force #25 (Variant)
  9. Ultra Pro Top Loader. Eliminates the wavy effects of plastic bags and allows the benefit of inserting a white backboard in a rigid plastic casing...best of both worlds. I think they are great for displaying.
  10. Might as well collect virgin variants then. Definitely cool but nothing about it looks like a comic book. My favorite virgin variant (Jim Lee cover for The Boys). If the general public looked at it they would never assume it's a comic book.
  11. I know $250 is what it's selling for right now but I personally would not buy it at that price point. It recently spiked for no apparent reason. There are plenty of them available and this isn't one of the rarer Spawn UPC comics in 9.8 condition. But if that's what the market dictates who am I to argue. This post needs more pics!!! That's my excuse for showing off my collection How can anybody not prefer the newsstand version over the direct edition?!?!?! Looks so much cooler.
  12. Is there really a difference between the two companies? Like all mergers you would have to downsize to eliminate overlapping roles. There would be an epic battle royal to determine who stays...Thanos vs Darkseid, Deadshot vs Deadpool, Namor vs Aquaman, etc, etc, etc. I'd rather see each of the companies spinning off to create sub-universes. Like ones that cater specifically to children's books or a manga line.
  13. I honestly don't think any of the movies will get a "rotten" rating. Having said that... Captain Marvel. This would be the one most likely to get a rotten score. A female lead role is always a risk (that's why Wonder Woman was such a pleasant surprise). The general public doesn't know much about Captain Marvel so it would have to be another "origin" movie. By the time this movie releases it will be just another comic book movie that we've all seen already. Fatigue will set in.
  14. If they show Aunt May throwing out that tee shirt while cleaning up boxes of old stuff in the Homcoming movie I'll buy it. That actually would be a cool Easter egg. Until then it is pretty lame to just say he was in Iron Man after the fact.
  15. Yeah, that. I've also talked with sellers about prices and they would relist the item as a "buy it now" for me. Obviously the communication has to be within minutes of each other so nobody would snatch it up but it's worked out pretty well.
  16. No reserve, let it ride. The problem with double covers (in general) is that whenever they pop up for sale they are ridiculously priced. ***Nice book
  17. I don't care about print runs and all that jazz. Coolness matters. Everybody knows the headless one is a better cover...
  18. Well, at least Michael Bay can't -up the animated version of Transformers (Gen 1 up to the reign of the Headmasters). The greatest cartoon and toy line ever. ***The animated movie is still better than any of the live action films
  19. 361 is no longer "reasonable". If you didn't get one when it was hovering around $200 you missed the boat. I recommend picking up the "other" book. Which is actually a pretty good book with two first appearances...
  20. This is great news. I want this movie to succeed so bad. With how hard they are marketing this movie it wouldn't surprise me if it breaks records (fingers crossed).
  21. I absolutely agree. I'll always happily pay a premium for a variant newsstand edition. That WildCATS #2 newsstand is a prime example...
  22. C'mon man. That' a non graded second print copy worth tree dolla fiddy. Go find a CGC 9.8 first print newsstand copy worth tree hundy lol. I thought this rumor of carnage in the movie was confirmed weeks ago? That's why this book in 9.8 condition jumped from $200 to $300 so quickly. I'm on board with the trendy pick of having Jim Carrey as Cletus. He could pull off that psychotic role easily.
  23. It's active. A lot more active recently Congrats on the up-grade. Great placement on the McFarlane signature. Stan Lee will be Stan Lee...always knows where to put his signature to mess up a good cover
