  2. R-rating please... Thats a joke right? What's your percieved punchline? So you really think Marvel would pump out an R rated Deadpool movie? Read my comment again.

  4. That's a copper age book, so most discussion of it goes on there. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7689666&fpart=1 I need to brush up on my timelines ... Age From To Golden 1938 1950 Silver 1956 1970 Bronze 1970 1985 Modern 1985 Present ***Thanks for the heads up. Truly appreciated.
  5. Is there an Uncanny X-Men #266 (1st Gambit) appreciation thread? There's been a gradual uptick from the $200 price point it was sitting at. With the confirmation of "go" for the movie, mid/low $200's seem like a good entry point to grab a copy (if you don't already own one). ***1990...borderline "modern"
  6. I bought a few from them. Some notable ones... Amazing Spider-Man #300 9.8 (came back graded as a 9.8) Iron Fist #1 9.6 (not yet graded but it looks fantastic) Tales To Astonish #100 9.8 (not yet graded but looks fantastic) It's one of the few sellers I follow on a weekly basis on Ebay. Their shipping is top notch and everything is packaged securely. Also great customer service. Only one complaint...bidding gets more pricey than most (but this is out of their control).
  7. I don't fold down the flap (so no need for tape). But when I ship a comic I use a very light sticky adhesive tape to hold the flap down. It basically has the same holding strength of a post-it note.
  8. How in all that is holy did this get a 9.9? It had Liefeld's art all over it! that's why it's not a 10.
  9. Sorry, let me clarify. Yes, I agree he's been popular for a long time...consistently popular. I was a big fan when the issue originally hit the shelves. But "blew up"...$400 to $1,000, a new post about NM98 popping up every other day, comparing NM98 to IH 181, etc....all within the past few months.
  10. I can't imaging how popular he will get if the movie is a success. I can't imagine most of the new fans will be clammering for a NM 98 for $1000 but stranger things have happened. Some young/teenage boy/girl see the movie. Love it. Get into comics. Grow up. Get a paying job. Decide to buy something that reminds them of happy childhood memories. Right now the only driving NM98 are the collectors/hoarders...not the general public. Wait 20 years before we can assess the true impact (overblown hype or the next IH 181?). Name (1) character who is more popular than Deadpool from the copper age to present. Does Walking Dead characters count? Popular to whom? The general public doesn't know Deadpool from Omega Red. Popular to comic book collectors...I'll go with Venom. Popular versus Walking Dead fanatics...I'll go with Rick. Again, Deadpool just blew up a few months ago.

  12. This +1 Wouldn't even think twice about it. Nope, not me. I have both the regular and UPC version (both in 9.8) and it never even crossed my mind to sell them even if it hits $1K. NM 98 is one of my favorite book. Just can't imagine my collection without it. ***Note to self...need to post a picture of them together. ***Follow up... Sorry about the crappy picture. I'm too lazy to buy a good camera . So here are some of my favorite "1st" issues. Still need to get the Iron Fist #14 35 cent version and the Spider-man 300 UPC verson.

  14. I got 1,000 shares of Yahoo instead. IPO at $92 is way inflated. But I'd still take 100 shares of BABA over a low grade AF15...higher potential for a higher return. ***Clarify...Yahoo priced back during their dip a few months ago. Now even Yahoo is inflated at current price.
  15. Yes, yes you are crazy It looks gorgeous to me. Gonna put that on my list of "If I won the lottery..."
  16. I don't believe it... ...you have a girlfriend? Nice grab (thumbs u
  17. MOS 3rd print, 4th print, and 5th print were the most expensive and most difficult for me to get. 1st and 2nd print were going for pretty much the same price and plenty of them available. MOS #17 (first appearance/cameo of Doomsday) 1st print was another easy get. 2nd print was a bit more difficult to find but not impossible. ***Talking specifically about CGC 9.8 only
  18. Don't know if I should be in awe or be repulsed However, I am definitely jealous (thumbs u
  19. No. You really can see the lack of critical tools nowadays people suffer, being unable to judge what a good artist is. Not a "pleasant" artist, a good artist. A single example: Frank Quitely. No. Eye of the beholder...opinions. Too many "older" folks don't give enough credit to some of the newer talented artists (and vice versa). It goes both ways.
