  1. Some people are just more sensitive than others (I am one of those people). Not everyone can be a GAtor with a thick hide.
  2. What a dumb thing to say or think. you know I quoted the same thing and then erased it cause I just didn't want to get into it this morning. Good for you, Sweet Lou. You guys are overthinking it and IMO over reacting. Many people don't type the way they speak. I generally give people online a little benefit of the doubt to people because of this.
  3. Have you gone back and read SC22's posts? Your resemblance to him is uncanny. Subby's grammar and spelling is world's apart (better).
  4. Fair points. I would add that Kendrick Lamar's musical score will also add to the dollars at the box office. Hip - Hop and R+B culture rule music charts around the world and young people who feel a connection with a movie will be more prone to see it for that reason. You'll remember that most previous Marvel movies used scores based on classic rock, which while appeal to a wide audience mostly appeal to older people. This score is a far cry from previous scores in Marvel films.
  5. You simply can't accurately compare scans from different scanners. Each model of scanner will represent a book differently.
  6. It's absolutely insane. Stratford is about a half hour West of me but even as far as London (an hour West) the prices are just out of this world. I just keep wondering where all this money is coming from. It seems like there is no end to it.
  7. Same thing is happening where I live (Kitchener / Waterloo just an hour West of Toronto). Condos are going for the same price as homes now. You want a nice sized condo? Expect to pay half a million which is the starter price for a home. I don't know how my children are going to be able to afford a home when they are ready to buy one.
  8. I sold that book last year. While it's not the strongest 7.0 I didn't think it was severely over graded.
  9. That's a strong 8.5 price, for sure. Makes a 9,000 9.0 look like a bargain I question whether the 8.5 was upgradeable. It looked exceptionally nice from what I could see (I understand they were poor pics). Did anyone get grading notes?
  10. The grading forum is basically a ballpark guess. It will get you into the ballpark but I wouldn't bank on it.
  11. Thanks guys. I corrected the typo and also added a back cover scan so you can see how clean the book is. Feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns.
  12. Shipping: Certified books, shipping is included within North America, ROW we split it. Raw books, include $10 for shipping within North America. ROW I will split with interested parties. Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: I am considered a very good grader among my peers ( Here is a link to my kudos thread ) but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. I will accept returns if item is otherwise not as described. Consider all books pressed. Payment: Paypal, bank wire, check or MO.
  13. I will be posting an EXTREMELY attractive Batman #2 CGC 5.0 OWW If anyone is interested, drop me a PM.
  14. Hindsight is usually (but not always) 20/20 I passed on many copies of AF #15 and other books. You NEVER know for certain what's going up or down. Some books that are hot today were considered boat anchors in previous years.
  15. Scans are one of the most misunderstood things in the hobby today as we have evolved to a digital market. You can have a multitude of defects that appear on a scan that do not appear on a book. You can have scans that hide defects. You can have scans that make shadows, tanning, color breaks and color strike all look worse or better, depending on the book and the scanner. The other thing that people do far too often is say how a book is over graded or undergraded based on the scan they see. You have no way of knowing if a book is undergraded unless you can see the book in it's entirety as you can have a multitude of defects that don't show in scans (or in front scans only) And saying a book is overgraded? Again, without the book in hand it's a tough call to make. ------------------ We had a grading contest I participated in years ago and a book that many people graded a 7.5/8.0 was actually a 9.4 because the scanner made the book look like it had multiple spine stresses. I learned never to judge based on a scan that day.
  16. In my experience, DD #7 was previously a $4500 book in 9.2 and it slacked off a bit for a few years. It happens. The $33K 9.6 sale probably woke a few people up.
  17. Not too shabby. HG DD #1 is on the uptick ... As a general rule of thumb, Fantucchio copies fetch strong numbers across the board. The DD #7 9.2 ended at roughly where I thought it was going to end (I was thinking $4500)
  18. Kitchener. Grew up in Toronto. Know Walt and Marc really well
