Yeah, and Troll-Boy didn't say anything negative about me? Fat chance, and that why he's and his cronies are here, continually stalking me around the boards. Don't you think he's just saying "walk a mile in my shoes" in his own charming green skinned way? I didn;t read the entire thread but that is the gist i got. I don't want to get between you two, but this place is like marriage. Either one person gives in to make it work or eventually someone has to leave. If both give in (or compromise), all the better. R. Thanks Dr. Phil! Fine. In forum language not directed to JC or anyone in particular. Don't troll. Be humble. Be sensitive and open minded. mind your business. Or you get strikes.

Nah, I'd rather burn all my books, and just might do that this summer. I want to see you burning a box of warehouse condition GSX #1's So now it's a BOX? This place is hilarious - now that Sho'nuff is banned, I guess everyone needs an enemy. awww stack, pile..whatever. Literary license and all that.

The conditional is pretty lame. I will always accept a conditional pm as long as the buyer is serious. That makes it fair for everyone. Some guys want to keep it anonymous, some guys need time payments authorized, some guys have more questions. I hate losing a book just because the seller was off line and could not answer a question for me.

I don't get it.Why do people get annoyed? They can ask the question and you can decline. I was offered a ridiculous price for the FF #1 is sold for my friend. Why would I get upset? I just said no and the bidder came back with two higher bids. He didn't buy the book but still... Heck, greggy offered me $1 on an $800 Ebay book. Why take it personally. Every once in a while someone will say yes and that is what they are taking their chances on.. R.

Only the Brits still do. I know. Love the British lingo. My girlfriend's a Brit so I guess I have to stand by my post. An even better word is score. Three score and ten.

I love people that still use the word fortnight!

Best idea ever ??? Clear backing boards !!!

As usual a bunch of irrelevant posts, a few relatively stale quips and one ignored Alpha male. Oh well, another day on the boards. -

Dave, the guy from North Coast, had them manufactured himself. I think he was trying to sell them to dealers and collectors and create a market for them but I'm not to sure how well he did on them. I don't recall him selling them at any recent shows but like you said, he uses them on his own books. I didn't realize he man'd them himself. For what it's worth, the books look absolutely spectacular in a mylar with a clear backer. It's truly something to behold. It would be nice if Trace or Matt (or FFB for that matter) chimed in and gave some input as to acidity, buffer etc. on this topic as if it were up to me, this (the clear backer) is the way I would store my books. Dave Kapelka (sp?) had them when he brought his OO Amazing Spider-man collection to market in Chicago. I bought a couple of his books and MK, Nik and a few other boardies saw the books in them last summer. They truly are a fantastic idea as far as visual appeal goes. I wonder if de-acidifying a book would prevent the need for a buffer in the bag....ie, how come there is no buffer in a CGC slab? I know they have the interleaving paper between the cover and the book but that is mainly there to prevent ink migration to the cover. R. -

Awesome. I want one of those! Looks like the corpse on the lower left already has his You know after seeing a cover like that Icannot for the life of me understand what is hot about Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton or any other 89 pounder out there. Seriously. That might be the most beautiful Frazetta cover I've ever seen....that is Frazetta isn't it? -
Or ask for Ebay or Dealer references. Or if anyother forumites will vouch for them.

Have a Cigar! Golden Age only....!
VintageComics replied to Shield's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
cheese and rice!!!!!!!! man, what a book. way to go Ronaldo. That book has it all! First, it's a Hangman...second, it has a classic Harry Lucey cover...third...it's a SanFrancisco copy and fourth, it has great stories with off-white pages. Extraordinary! Forget the heroes, it's all about the girl in the tube Women in tubes......... Been thinking about getting my wife a big glass tube for the living room. Thought she could lay inside of it(perhaps upside-down) with an alarmed look on her face while I watch TV. I guess I'm just a romantic guy. I've got to agree with you boys on the "women in tubes" thing. Maybe I'll get a nice one for the girlfriend for Valentines Day. Sorry boys...gonna break protocol and show this one again. -

I doubt it seeing as it is signed by LUCEY right in the middle of the cover I saw that scrooge, but the slab label says Paul did the cover and interior art. That's why I was asking. -

Did Paul Reinmann actually do that cover? Isn't that they guy that did the kreppy ink job all over Kirby's inks on the first issues of The X-men? Very sweet book! R. -

Congrats on the nice pick-ups, Ronaldo. Exciting 4 is one of my favorites. Interestingly we both have copies with almost identical defects. Is it possible that all of them had that same water stain? Thanks Richard! Steve told me you would like that one. You are right they both do have the exact same defect. Metro has one on there site as well that is labeled as "stain on bottom right corner." Very weird coincidence if you ask me. Nice copy by the way (thumbs u Gang, is it possible that these are from a warehouse find or something? It's not only possible but likely that all these copies where damaged at the same time. -
Your right. New for me.

I've owned 4 copies of FF #48 in 9.6. Last copy i bought from a low feedback UK seller and snagged it for like $2000. FT did me a solid by picking it up for me. FT rocks!! (thumbs u

Very... thats one of the three issues placed in a polybag with the floating card . I dont know dude, census shows 14 subbed and one third are 9.8s Maybe people have no interest in subbing them yet. Compare the UXM poly-bagged issues (294/295/296) census numbers with other UXM books. 294 = one 9.8 Only 13 have been submitted 295 = two 9.8only 10 have been submitted 290 = Fifty five 9.8out of 69 submitted My take is people have no desire to take them out of their bags and submit them. Once they do maybe a bagged version will be desirable down the road. R.
