  1. Hey gang. I'm going to try to post some "big" books over the weekend in a separate thread. Possibly Saturday early evening or so. I'll have a bunch of random stuff from the late 30's to early 60's. Lo to hi grade and all will be CGC graded. A couple of restored books but most are blue label. There will be lots of keys as well. Disney, pre hero GA and SA, Superhero books...a nice mix. I will also be topping up and updating my old GA to SA Ducks, EC and heros thread. R.
  2. Adams at his finest...polished, in his prime and about as graceful as he could be.
  3. Canadians need strong beer in order to tolerate French Quebec Damn beer made me miss the trooper book. Bet if it was US beer I wouldn't have missed it. R.
  4. I'm going to list some raw GA books tonite, and maybe some later stuff (50's-60's) . Keys, classic covers, etc. Lots of goodies. Keep an eye in the market place after about 8 pm eastern. There will be some Bark's ducks, EC books, Superhero stuff...water I can get my hands on. I can list slabs too but my scanner is not great though I can provide camera pics. R.

  6. i like this one and 10 alot. Nice book for sure (thumbs u but the cover is too "busy" compared to the other for my tastes. it's always going to be busy when superheroes sail into conspirators! Billy, you GA geeks are now going to drag me into Lou fine, Fox, Cantaurs and a krep load of others things I can't afford. Oh well, if you want to go in, go in all the way.... Nice book! R. thank you, Sir, and do not forget the cheslers! I already gots me one of those....well sort of...a Canadian variant (reprint) of an early Chesler. It's hopeless. I blame Richard Evans and his geek squad from last year in Chicago.... And yes you were there Billy. Don't even try to deflect. R.

  8. Wow, some great artwork in this thread! A couple of books from a collection I picked up. I'm thinking of keeping them.
  9. Because there are so many books I was thinking of posting the list in the market place and then scans could be made available as people showed interest. Is that a good idea? R.
  10. Raw stuff probably middle of the week. Slabbed stuff...as soon as I buy a legal scanner.
  11. Nope. These are books I am selling for a friend!
  12. Hey gang I have a ton of stuff that will be putting up for sale soon. It runs for 1939/40 GA in all grades to early 60's in all grades. About 200 books total with superhero, some Barks books, some horror, keys, classic cover etc. I'll drop a link here when they go up for sale. R.
  13. Not sure if I have posted this yet...nearly in my hands..Thanks to the ever charming Mr. Evans for prying my money out of my hands for this gem. Highest graded, white pages. Restored? Who gives a rat's arse? Not I....It's purdy. R.
  14. Canada  No, my mom has a condo in Sarasota, Florida so that was the final destination but we made a crazy road trip out of it. Did you drop any books off with the fine folks at CGC while you were there? Nope. Couldn't fit it in this time round. Been there before though...I used to visit Sarasota at least once a year. R.

  22. Well, folks. Even though I was on and off the boards for the past 1.5 weeks, it was just to check pms and stay on top of things. I just finished a road trip with Louise that ended up in some really great experiences! (Shameless plug....some kick arse books from the 30's to the 60's coming soon) I did the following: Met some incredible and friendly people on a 5000 km journey. Made woopey on the side of the road. Rummaged through about 200 long boxes of comics. Saw a really cool gun collection with everything from a Colt, to a Magnum to a .50 caliber Israeli Military issue boat anchor and a few assault rifles. Had some Louis 13 cognac. The stuff is about $3800 a bottle. The bottle is solid crystal and goes for over $1000 bucks on Ebay when empty. Smoked a $60 stogey. Got mistaken for a Rock Star. Saw some cool scenery. Partied hard in a few American towns. Saw lots of wild life Glad to be home. Here are some pics... Great view A little joke Nice shot Me and the lady What a koinkidink. Too funny! Wild Deer! Louise, 1/2 way through the trip decides she wants to paint her hood with a touch up stick.
  23. Thanks again Roy The scans don't do them Justice. Congrats on that sweet copy you picked up. Its a keeper. Yup long story on that book. I first saw it as a raw copy 5 years ago. It changed hands countless times, got graded, etc and I was so upset I could not afford it at the time. I kicked myself for years about that book. It's finally in my hands and I intend to keep it as long as I can. R.
