  1. unbridled energy and vitality......Eye popping colors is part of what makes the Golden Age...uh....well "Golden" Is that because there was no gloss on the books back then? No "gimmicks" or sparkle....it was all about artwork and talent. R.
  2. Shiv, that is a tough book to find with no writing on the inside....sweet book!! R.
  3. Just posted this yesterday...thought i'd show everyone here just incase there is someone who does not make it to the marketplace. Mighty Midget Comics from 1942 Captain Marvel Adventures #11 9.2 with WHITE pages
  4. That is a great idea Andy. Some of the other forums already use a similar idea. Great idea. An announcement thread is what we need. I've tried announcing my upcoming sales threads a few hours in advance and some people didn't like it and it ended up getting my thread reported to mods and deleted. I approve. R.
  5. Oh my. I'm not a big fan of repeating a posted pic...but I'm pretty sure no one will mind this one...oh my....
  6. Although these are officially for sale in the forum, I am not too worried if they do not sell. These books are both MIND BLOWINGLY nice. Wow. Officially my #2 and #3 Timely purchases so far and need I say that owning these books...to paraphrase Robin Williams: "borders on the mystical".....
  7. OK. Officially my first Timely ever. You know what? This has been a long time coming. After growing up as a young'in lusting after early Timelys, and trying to calculate how much it would cost to own every issue of Marvel Mystery... I forgot about them for decades. After chasing SA and BA Marvels (don't get me wrong, I love them) I feel like everything has come around full circle for me. Wow. I love it. The first of many, I hope.
  8. I agree, it is a great cover and a great book, and it will likely be my only "big" purchase over the next year...that said, it appears that there are just SO many of them compared to the other GA keys...even in HG, there are quite a few, hence it does not get the same price consideration...but, it is worthy of being in anyone's top 10 for sure I think because the artwork on the Cap #1 cover was just so much better than any other GA key out there from the same era (well detailed, great composition and layout) that it almost feels like it does not belong with the other books. Does this make sense? It looks more like a SA book than a GA book. R.
  9. I thought that the latest Dark Horse run was doing very well. R.
  10. That slide show makes me feel like my visit to Denise Milani's web site was a waste of time! I mean that in the best possible way!
  11. it is indeed gator I saw that book and posted a pic of Brent holding it in my con report. That was the first MC #1 I have ever seen in real life. Now somebody find me a cheap #4.
  12. I agree with you. Some slightly OT threads may fit...but if there is no restraint they should all go. R.
  13. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt as most Brit's have a great sense of humour. Cause if you are being a tool I might have to dis-like you even though you are a fellow (former) X-men fan. FYI, I have several relevant outstanding buy and sell transactions with comic collectors in this forum and wanted an open post for everyone to see so that no-one would think anything negative...this is a general post about comic related matters for comic related people...is this something I should have been posted in the WC?
  14. Most people don't realize that filling an empty room with garbage does not make the room look better. R
  15. I'm back. And I'm just going to say that I agree with Cal. Too much OT garbage in the general section. Something like the SD forest fire thread was ok as it is a humanitarian effort and there is always room for that, but c'mon guys and gals...I don't have a friggin clue who OSU is, don't really care what anyone is eating for dinner and don't need to know how many socks you can put into your kid sister's lunch bag (I preferred using bagged farts BTW).... My If you spend a little time hanging out in the water cooler you OT posters would easily make a few new friends in no time (just like you did here when you first joined) and get that "community feel" as well. I'd absolutely prefer to keep this a comic related forum as much as possible. Just MHO. R.
  16. For punishment, use the mitre saw to give your right hand an angle cut. I say he should cut a sig book in half and scan it.
  17. ...is right. There needs to be a public apology here from the seller. It's the only thing that's appropriate. (thumbs u Although normally I would agree I did have one instance where a paypal notification did not show up in my email inbox (and this is how many of us register payment) and so I had been waiting payment for a week while it was sitting in my paypal account. R.
  18. ...got to be patient..... Not yours yet sweetie.
  19. My books were shipped on time though right What books? Funny.... You sonic the hedghog #7 is on it's way. CGC 5.5.
  20. My books were shipped on time though right What books?
  21. I'd like to put myself on the forum probation thread. I'm late shipping out packages. They're on the way now.
  22. is that supposed to be you looking in the personals? Yes how much did you have to pay the chick?
  23. Add me to the list. This place is a sad joke... Who's going to bump all the useless threads?
