  1. Graaa...Now I have to get everything below 100. Damn it. Seeing all your delightful pics just makes me want more. Damn hobby! (I just recently finished acquiring 100-700 and all the variants for Vol 3)
  2. Hadn't picked up a pencil in like 9 years and had the itch. To get warmed up, did a copy of Amazing Spider-man 129...my inking is still rusty but overall, it turned out ok i think.
  3. How did you do this? I'm plagued by non-payers right now! EDIT: never mind, I've figured it out
  4. I've had a few non-payers the past couple of weeks...here's the latest.. marygarsan I might have another one currently but it's only been 3 days since the auction was won, however, i'm seeing feedback from other sellers that they are non-payment so I'm expecting to have to escalate it as I've had no communication from them.
  5. Here's a winner who obviously used a shill account to jack up the price of this Spider-man variant I'm bidding on. http://offer.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=321574491696&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565
  6. Update: I've had the very issue I mention above when they delivered to my door. Basically, I explained the issue to the Fedex driver using the included paperwork as proof. The drivers are unable to wave those fees at the door so I gave her my cc info and she said she would bring it to the attention of whomever at the office and someone would call me to let me know either way. Sure enough, an hour later, someone called to say they would not be charging my credit card. Just be polite and they will totally help you - at least that's been my experience.
  7. The 300? Yeah. Oh well, I calculated costs that I paid for it including the grading and it was $30.35 total so I really can't complain.
  8. Well, in my case it's simple math for modern books. 2) I'm in Canada. It costs an arm and a leg to ship books to and from CGC. Paying an additional X$ USD for the pre-screen if too many of them don't make the cut is cost-prohibitive for the type of books I usually send in; and . Yep, shipping books down there average between $25-$40 and the return is minimum $60. Stupid Canada!
  9. What books are you most interested in now, Aaron_? WTTB! Thanks! Mostly Amazing Spider-man. My hyper-religious mother burned the huge Bagley run I had when I was a teenager and last fall I managed to find a lot on eBay of that exact run, so since then, I've been crazy repurchasing my collection. And selling what I collected in the mid-2000's to try and complete this collection. I do also buy a lot of graphics to read and some of my absolute fav's are: All the Ultimate stuff Preacher Sin City Y the Last Man Invincible Walking Dead Fables House of Mystery Sandman Supreme Power (Vol 1 - when they took it off Max, it sucked)
  10. I just realized I didn't do the intro thing here. For shame Aaron, for shame. Anyways, hello! Vancouver, Canada resident - big fan of comics. Have collected sporadically for the last 20 or so years. and that's about it.
  11. You should have zero issues. CGC puts the original shipping form you had attached to clear customs when you sent your books down and that *should* be proof enough. I just picked up 14 CGC issues today from FedEx and the printed invoice from CGC also states "Canadian goods returned". In my case, someone at FedEx didn't read clearly and they tried to charge me some taxes on them. I immediately said "uh, these are from Canada being returned as you can see right here" pointing to CGC's shipping sticker. They immediately corrected the problem and had the fees removed. I'm not sure how this would play out had it happened at my door and not at the FedEx office. Chances are they would have held the package and I would have had to go to the office to get the charge removed. But you shouldn't have an issue.
  12. Woot, Just arrived today. For the most part I'm happy. Didn't think the 300 would go that low. Oh well, what can you do.
  13. Oh man does that bring back memories! I remember my mom wouldn't let me get a subscription to Nintendo Power but my childhood friend had one and was the only 1 who did in our group of friends. He was the envy of all of us! I did manage to score the Super Mario 3 special walk-through edition and the Super Mario World walk through as well. Wish I still had those! In the meantime while you guys are scouring the world for still-fresh copies - here's a site where you can download CBR/CBZ's of the first 25 issues! http://www.retromags.com/magazines/category/usa/nintendo-power/#.U7LC5ajBJ9V
  14. Thanks guys. I wish I had kept at it. At one point I was aspiring to be a comic artist but my interests eventually changed...what can you do though - that's life! =) Here's another one, just a random sketch. I was really into The Crow back then so def inspired by that.
  15. Here's a Frankenstein replication I drew with pencil crayons years ago in high school. (The assignment was to recreate someone else's art or a photo with pencil crayons and I choose this piece - which I cut out of a Wizard magazine) I really wish I could remember who the original artist was but it was 17 years ago so please forgive me!
  16. Yeah, i hit 36 business days for mine today and they are 'SFG' and have been for about a week and a half on Modern Slow...hoping some movement soon. Second invoice is still 'verified' on the 20th business day.
