  1. The character that Stallone was born to play. Awesome book.
  2. I know what you're thinking, "He'll go away after a while." but...
  3. Sometimes it can be pretty obvious even without pics. If CGC gave it a 9.8, and when you received it, it had dents, it would seem pretty clear that they weren't there when the grade was given.
  4. Ford was the original. Every other car is just a copy cat.
  5. Just wanted to throw out some props. E-mailed CS using the addy that @Jennifer F.supplied, and exactly 1 MINUTE later they e-mailed back with the number I needed.
  6. I wholeheartedly agree with you Tony. Of my Value sub from last summer, 6 of the 7 books had this "light spine stress lines to cover" word for word on all of them.
  7. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he sent the books for them to sell and was disappointed in the grades they gave them. Like I said, I don't have a lot of personal experience with them. I apologize if I offended anyone.
  8. Well, that's really asking a lot for my far from steel trap memory, but I could swear I read, just recently (the other MCS thread?), where someone sent 49 books and was surprised at the grades they received.
  9. I really dislike any defect. I really like it when sellers say something like, "very minor newton ring (or scuff)" ... that way I'm not surprised. Then I can decide if 'minor' = 'acceptable'. Because you can't decide what is acceptable for anyone but yourself. Off topic comment - I haven't done a lot of business at MCS, but I have developed an opinion of them just from reading these boards. (I know this is wrong) The opinion that I've come to is that you guys overgrade raws and are over critical of slab condition. Again, I know it's wrong to think like this without any personal experience, but that's what I've read here on multiple occasions.
  10. That's actually a pretty good idea. WF has my house note - I should look into getting a card from them.
  11. This isn't mine, but for some reason, I still feel kinda proud.
  12. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1884035/ Nothing bad. Maybe a little distasteful.
  13. I just asked this question in the 'Ask CGC' forum. They have to approve it (why?), but it should appear in a day or so. "There is a discussion going on about whether your comic's TATs remain the same as they were at the time of submission, or if they change as the posted TATs change. Can CGC ( @Jennifer F.) supply the answer?"
  14. There is a discussion going on about whether your comic's TATs remain the same as they were at the time of submission, or if they change as the posted TATs change. Can CGC ( @Jennifer F.) supply the answer?
  15. I obviously don't have these in hand yet. Mailed the check this morning. Hey, 3% here and 3% there adds up.
  16. Just to be clear... It's your belief that the TAT for submitted books stays at that TAT no matter how many times it changes before your books are completed?
  17. I believe that quote was intended to answer the question as to whether the clock started when the package was delivered or when it was opened.
  18. The TATs are exceedingly long right now, and have been for a long time now. However, that information is on the site for all to see. Surely, you (or anyone) didn't submit books without first garnering this info. What might reduce these kinds of complaints is to make that info easier to get. Front page? I don't know, it's easy to get to/look up for those of us who know, but for those who don't, maybe not so much. I know one thing that CGC should say somewhere, your TAT doesn't stay at the posted number of days at the time of submitting. When it changes, it changes for everyone, whether they have your books already or not. This is not clear - I've never seen it posted anywhere - and is a major source of confusion. It's kind of dastardly that they don't make this clear...with the TATs changing so frequently and drastically.
  19. It's ok to ask sellers to help buyers keep costs down, until it crosses a line. To ask a seller to do something shady is crossing the line, imo.
  20. Subscription creases are the worst. I once bought an Iron Man 7 thinking it was beautiful looking. When I got it, what I thought was part of the artwork was, in fact, a subscription crease. It immediately went into my "never remove these" box.
