  1. Great. Now I have to go to dictionary.com and see what pernicious means.
  2. I just looked again. There were no graded copies of either WCA #45 or Avengers #186 that had Mark Jewelers on the labels. @Jennifer F.Was @Gabeg78misled? Or can you successfully request that MJ is put on the label now?
  3. Two things to consider... 1) The TAT is in business days. That's typically Monday thru Friday. 2) If (When) the TAT changes while your books are waiting at CGC, that number is now your TAT. Many people are confused and think they keep the TAT that was listed when CGC received their books. This isn't true.
  4. Well, I guess I can't use the word 'vague' anymore to describe the grader's notes. You sure it wasn't 95%?
  5. Wouldn't this be a probable scenario ... Head Grader, "Why did you give this book a 9.4?" Grader, "Hold on, let me check my notes."
  6. I don't know about "throw away", but it's logical to assume that if CGC spends their time/money to reslab these slabs, they would probably not want them used in the first place. Unless there's some kind of "use them all, and we'll reslab those that people complain about" decision from management.
  7. In this scenario, I would've just returned the comic. I absolutely hate scuffs. I never, ever ask (or give) a partial refund. They're stupid ... if the comic isn't what you wanted, return it. "Crystal clear" ... now where did I read that?
  8. I could swear that I read numerous times that the scuffing was on the inside.
  9. This is happening so often, it cannot be a case of someone not catching these. It has to be a case of someone making the decision to let it pass. Unacceptable.
  10. Wow! So basically a year for pressing. Then the clock starts for grading?
  11. Looking at that TMNT, I'm reminded that I've read numerous times, by members here and by CGC reps themselves, that each book is looked at by a minimum of 3 graders to determine the grade.
  12. Even though this post is making me think too much for a laid back Sunday morning, I'm giving it a thumbs-up.
  13. I know absolutely nothing about bound comics ... how they're bound, where you get it done, are there comics that are not bound-possible, etc. One thing that I've always wondered, however, is can they be unbound?
  14. Warranted or not, I always look at the census numbers before spending a boatload of money. I would have to be getting a super deal if I was going to be spending a boatload of cash on a very common book. (Hulk 181, ASM 300, etc)
  15. I see why we have differing opinions here. You believe that if someone sets a max price of $X, that's what they want to pay for it (what you describe as the end goal). But it isn't. The bidder is willing to go that high, but would rather not have to.
  16. I just wish people would stop submitting all their stupid Bronze-age carp so that I can get my Silver-age books graded quicker. Sheesh, it's like you didn't even know that my stuff is better than yours.
  17. @Gabeg78@Jennifer F.Any news? Will a MJ copy of either West Coast Avengers #45 or Avengers #186 have that noted on the label?
  18. I have no experience with CC or Heritage, but have won dozens of books from CL's auctions. I learned long ago to wait until the last few seconds to put my max bid in. Shill bidding or not, the chances of paying your max price is much greater if you put that bid in early. Yes, I speak from experience. There's a big difference (and I'm looking at you, @William-James88) between paying your max price for legitimate reasons and paying your max price due to what you suspect is a little funny business.
  19. My very first girlfriend. Mom didn't like her coming over every night.
  20. When people basically say, "You stop doing what you like, so that I can do what I like", it confuses me. It just seems wrong.
  21. This is true with the newer cases. It was easy to do with the older ones
