  1. "I do get it. Assuming this is shill bidding is asinine."
  2. Some people, myself included, have a very different opinion.
  3. posted by @Jennifer F.on Tuesday... "The Chris Claremont signing just happened a few days ago..." so maybe the year is wrong...should be '22'?
  4. I don't think these are the same book. Different labels. Strange Tales #179
  5. Yeah. That reminds me, the only way I can see the status of my 8/18 Economy is to manually type in the Submission number.
  6. There's a difference between what you're willing to pay and what the final price should've been. Do you agree with this?
  7. https://www.ebay.com/itm/353862095962?hash=item5263d3145a:g:4IAAAOSw01th5Z14 https://www.ebay.com/itm/234168379764?hash=item368585e974:g:XlsAAOSwl25hMBW8 Here's a couple examples of slabs for sale that are advertised as having the MJ insert, but the label doesn't say anything about it. I, personally own a slab that I know to be a MJ, yet there is no mention of it on the label. I'm so confused.
  8. I started to get a little hint of that 'burned out' feeling a few months ago. Instead of getting out, I decided to try something a little different ... ok, a lot different. I've been a collector since the '70s and never, ever bought a romance comic. So when I started to feel tired of this whole thing, I started buying/reading some of that Bronze Age romance stuff. I won't lie ... it's a real change. I'll never stop adding spandex to the collection, but now I can have all that and also learn how to keep my man. All kidding aside, it sure is nice to have a large list of 'wants' again.
  9. I've not been able to get any kind of response from the 'Ask CGC' people, maybe someone here knows. When CGC slabs comics with the MJ insert, do they always note it on the label, or just for certain comics?
  10. Didn't it used to print out like 5 pages? Customer copy, Accounting copy, Shipping copy, etc As far as the white space ... I have a .txt file saved on my HD that says something like "Please do your best to eliminate any Newton Rings, scratches, smudges, etc" . I run the CGC printout back thru the printer and print that .txt file in the blank space. I know, I know ... it doesn't do anything, but it makes me feel better.

    oops...

Not sure what you're saying. Are you saying, for example, that if the rate of errors was 1%, it becomes greater than 1% if the work load increases? If this is what you mean, then I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you.

    oops...

    Conjecture. Purely speculative.
  13. A few years ago, I did a sales thread here on the boards. Had a fairly good amount of sales. For some reason though, Paypal was kicking back the payments ... they weren't allowing me to keep the money, they were automatically refunding the buyers. It wasn't like I was new either, I had been using PP to buy/sell for years. I called a couple of times and got the same answer "Yeah, we know what's happening, and why. But we can't tell you. We suggest you use checks/money orders." (One of the buyers even called PP and they told him the same thing.) Man, I felt like Cersei walking naked thru the streets ... so shamed. The weird part about it though, was some seller's payments went thru. (for roughly the same amounts) Because I felt responsible (even though I did nothing wrong), I shipped the books out and asked the buyers to send the checks/MOs when they receive them. Luckily, there were no problems. I've never done another sales thread. Don't need the hassle.
  14. I must not be very observant, because I'm not aware of this group. Or maybe I have observed posts by that group of people and just forgot ... no, that does not mean I have Alzheimer's.
  15. If Ford had a high rate of problems, I'd probably switch to Chevy.

    re: accounting

@Jennifer F. I had 2 books rejected of a 5 book Fast Track Modern submission. (Submission #4041948) My CC was charged the full amount on 4/11/22. I contacted accounting to make sure I will be refunded for the rejects on 4/14/22. As expected, I haven't received a response nor a refund. I realize they are pretty busy right now, but I just want some assurance that... a) they received my request and b) I'll be receiving a refund
