  1. reholder question... When sending one in, does the person doing the reholdering know what the particular problem was in the first place? If so, theoretically, the reholdered comic should always come back perfect, no?
  2. Of course they did. Did you ask how they know this?
  3. I never really understood this. Couldn't CGC just say "Yeah, that damage wasn't there when you took the picture, but who knows what happened between then and when you sent it."
  4. Obviously, you have a reason to say this. Care to share?
  5. Don't sweat it dude. Seriously. You're not the first person the put their foot in their mouth. Trust me, I speak from experience. It's really not a big deal.
  6. I belong to the 'no partial refund' camp. I will NEVER give one or ask for one. If it's not what I paid for, I return it ... you can do the same.
  7. OWK is right. It's common enough that it has a name ... Puddling. It'll damage the book. It's caused by CGC. They should (and will) reholder it on their dime. Something else that a QC dept would catch. Too bad no such department exists over there.
  8. This is probably true. If so, in my opinion it is also shameful. Know what else is shameful? Knowing that you have a problem and doing nothing to fix it.
  9. I don't go to many conventions. This is a thing?
  10. I'm not really a large assets kinda guy.
  11. 7 months for a reholder? At the very least, you should be refunded your submission fee.

    re: accounting

    Got it. Thank you.
  13. I emailed them with my order number and said I needed the submission number. They emailed me right back with the number I needed. Another way of getting it... When they first receive your books, you get an email (CGC Submission Acknowledgement). Your submission number is on that PDF.
  14. I'm sure I'm not the only one who checked for his name on that list.

    re: accounting

    Still nothing.
  16. Just finished Depraved by Bryan Smith. Ever see the movie Wrong Turn? Kinda like that. Normally, I would've stopped when I found out how much sex was in it, but it's about cannibals ... so stopping was not an option. I cannot recommend highly enough the Passage trilogy by Justin Cronin. By far, the best apocalyptic book(s) I ever read.
  17. re: shards in the slab How long has this been going on? It seems like it's been a very long time. How can CGC NOT know where they're coming from? This should've been fixed a long time ago. "What? Plastic shards are getting in the slabs? We better take care of that right away." Honestly, is there anyone here who thinks that CGC doesn't know where they're coming from? re: scratches and smudges How long has this been going on? Years, that's how long. When it first started happening, I was thinking that it had to be a preexisting flaw of the plastic/slab that was already there when it arrived. I was thinking that if it was happening in house, CGC would take care of it pronto. But seeing as how they don't give a rat's hiney about the shards, I'm not so sure anymore. re: Newton rings What can I say. Shame on you, CGC. Shame on you. People can say what they want about CGC's grading. About their resto detection. About the sturdiness of their slabs. I can't dispute any of that. But there is no denying ... when it comes to QC, CGC is hands down the worst.
