  1. I have to check my messages more often. That $25 coupon has been sitting there for a few days. <--- joined 5/3/99. First purchase = BOYS MIXED LOT OF 2T'S
  2. Slightly more significant than comic books. Hopefully, they'll be found. A couple of thoughts: - Being human ashes, one would think that they are not only clearly marked, but also well-packed. Not saying they weren't, but I didn't see where the story commented on either thing. - Being human ashes, I hope the funeral home doesn't take cost into consideration when deciding which delivery service to use. Safety should be the only consideration.
  3. I used to take a drive to Lansing now and then to thumb thru the back issues at Curious Books. This was back in the 80s...I couldn't tell you if it even still exists.
  4. I understand completely. I take that back. I understand partially, but not completely. I understand that a lot of people are offended by that word, but many others (including myself) don't bat an eye over it.
  5. I really want to know what women and American Indians think should be offensive to white males.
  6. Personally, I've never had a negative thought whenever I ran across either of those terms. I assume 'headlights' was retired due to people's sensitivities. The only negative thought I ever had with the term 'bondage cover' was "They're reaching a bit", but as far as being offended (by any term/name)...nope. I feel the same way with all this stuff concerning renaming sports teams and such. If you ask me, it's a bunch of malarkey. Never been one to get up in arms over words, I guess that makes me a racist, sexist pig.
  7. Are 2 boxes a requirement for a 50 book submission? I called once and asked if I could split my 25 book sub into 2 boxes and was told no.
  8. Sure, they'll fix it for you if you b**ch enough, but how does this kind of stuff go out in the first place?
  9. If I were you, I wouldn't file a claim yet. I would, however , file a Help Request Form to give them a little nudge, I've done this a couple if times when my packages have been idle for a couple of weeks and they always start moving again the next day. Remember, with the pandemic, combined with all the (new procedures) the USPS is going thru, things tend to get super slow. Patience is a necessity.
  10. Mid-grade war books. They're like bacon ... you can never get enough.
  11. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/437146-new-cgc-shipping-restrictions/
  12. They've always had me send them a scan of my shipping receipt, and then reimburse me.
  13. I wanted to relate a transaction that had the potential to turn bad but ended up being positive. I thought if I posted this 'good guy' post in the Blocked User thread, however, it might be going against the spirit of that thread, so in here it goes. Don't worry, it's a short story... Guy (shway-deals) buys a comic. It's relatively cheap - CGC 9.8 Money Shot 1 (CK Elite) $65. Less that 5 minutes after paying, he sends me an email requesting that I ship to his new address because he just moved. I tell him, "No can do" and explain that I'm screwed in the event that the transaction goes south. He says he totally understands. I refund, he changes his info on Ebay, I relist, and he buys again. Easy peasy.
  14. These are from this past auction. As you can probably surmise, I went a little wacko. When all was said and done & I got the total amount due, I felt bad...FOR 1 SECOND! Then I remembered that I'm an adult. I'm king of my castle. I answer to nobody. I'm twice divorced.
  15. Yeah, you could say that. Where my older siblings were into whatever was popular during the late 60s (IOW - drugs, bell bottoms, and bare feet), I was the kid with masking tape on his glasses, who built models in his room.
  16. I don't know about a gene, but haven't you ever wondered how you became a comic collector? I started collecting when I was a teen (many moons ago), in spite of having zero comic fans in my family. In fact, I can't remember ever seeing a comic book in the house before I started to collect. When I had a son, I tried to get him into comics, but the interest was never there. It saddens me to know that when I'm gone the joy of comics will be gone from my family ... unless I'm successful in passing the joy along to my as-yet-unborn grandson. Anyways, I wonder why I became a comic fan/collector and my brothers didn't.
  17. I don't do partial refunds either. Partial refunds just seem so weird, and weirder still... they seem to be considered part of doing business on Ebay. Also, for those calling for blockage...why? Because he's brash?
  18. It's probably something similar to that FF52 "amulet' variant cover.
  19. 4 book value (slow boat) Received - 7/23 F/I/S - 8/11
  20. Not used to seeing Galactus wide-eyed.
