  1. I guess it is kind of a subjective term. I, personally, was thinking 1000s. (think I'm in the ballpark?) Yes, I realize CGC has weighed the pros and cons of fixing this issue, and decided it's financially better (for them) to let it slide. But they have acceptable standards (so they say). I was just wondering why so many (there's that term again) are outside of those acceptable standards.
  2. This is a call out for any Thor experts here. Nothing important ... just a little curious. I was thumbing thru one of those old G&T Enterprises indexes tonight and the following comment is listed for issue #126..."Comment: No real villain in this story; Thor stripped of half his powers by Odin for revealing his secret identity to Jane Foster in JIM #124" Thing is though, it doesn't say when Thor gets his powers back. Surely, he does at some point.
  3. Does anyone know if CGC has stated why so many books have NRs "beyond acceptable standards"?
  4. I belong to that very small group of people who don't give two hoots about a little color touch.
  5. Honorable? Jimmy doesn't seem too honorable, IMO. It would never even enter my mind to keep them (or the value of them) all to myself.
  6. When I was a young lad, I was a huge Burroughs fan. I read all his books that I could get my hands on. At one point, I was reading all his Tarzan books. Then I saw this issue in the back issue box at the LCS and my mind exploded.
  7. I can just imagine the people at Marvel sitting around in a meeting and somebody pipes up "About those annuals, why don't we make each letter a different color?" Somebody else yells "Genius!"
  8. Now I feel super intelligent because I understood everything perfectly. Probably because I read the entire original thread by Beige.
  9. Tony has these at the moment, but they should be back in the box shortly. And my support group is encouraging me to come right out and admit to being a bigger Gladiator fan than a Spidey fan. There, I said it.
  10. These are ComicLink? It's always been 20 bucks for me.
  11. It came. It was originally scheduled to be delivered yesterday by 8:00, but never came. When I checked the tracking this morning (I just use the F/I/S link on the CGC Submission Tracking page), it gave me that "Alert" message. But it's all good now, it came this morning.
  12. Two different things here. The data itself, might be recorded at the printer's offices. Is that information, if it exists, obtainable? Probably not.
  13. Tracking for my CGC package says ... Is this the same as "Out For Delivery"? It was scheduled to arrive yesterday, but didn't show ... now it's scheduled to arrive today.
  14. Even Fat Gamer Beer-gut Thor?
  15. Looks pretty consistent across the board.
  16. I'm about to show my ignorance... What's it like with the rest of the collectable grading world (not comics). IOW - what about cards, coins, etc. (intermittent notes?)
  17. I don't ship internationally. I state that in every listing, in bold. It also state in all my listings ... Ships to : United States I still get that question..."How much to ship to______"
  18. Yep. My 8250 did that about 3 weeks ago. I just unplugged it, cursed a couple of times, and plugged it back in. It's never done it again. I just figured it was showing signs of dying. I bought it used and the power button has never worked, plus all of the other buttons only work some of the time. I power it on/off with the cord and everything else is done thru VueScan.
  19. That 14 kind of reminds me of a few issues around 130-140. Not really picture frame covers in the true sense because of the lack of left and right borders. But the artwork basically stops about 3/4 of the way up the cover. I'm far from a picture frame expert, but some people focus their collection around them, so maybe they could add some insight about these 'anomalies'. Here's an example...
  20. Daredevil #16. Last year. Listing didn't give a grade (number or letter), simply said something like 'nice'. Looked pretty ... well ... nice, so I bought it ($200). Came back from CGC a 9.4. Sold it for $1500.
