  1. No the rules require it to be a board exclusive offer. We've nuked threads before for being posted on instagram here at same time :gossip: Hustruck/CGCBoy and the mysteriously not actually bought Hulk 181 comes to mind.

Pertinent language is Rule 4 which reads "It must be an exclusive board-only offer. If the book is offered for sale through another venue (ebay, dealer site, personal web site, etc.) then it should NOT be offered here. It should be offered in the Sales Advertising board."

  2. I bought a couple of books last night through a Facebook group. Sellers communicated well, got me good pictures, had good prices, and both have already sent me tracking, but the proof will be when the books arrived. One person wanted PPal personal, so I just told him I'd pay the $2 extra for PPal fees.

I did have a negative experience with a Facebook group seller. One book was fine, but the other had a subscription crease, which he denied, saying that I was not using pictures of the same book. He gnashed his teeth but relented with the PPal claim and made a partial refund. I also had someone send me a book with color touch and then complain when I wanted to return it. But he took it back.

It's been a mixed bag so far. There are some folks who, at least to me, are the core of those groups and often are members of multiples. What sense of community there is comes from those common names. But I have made some notable sales there, and made some good buys, too.

As long as I have PPal protection and am smart about what I'm doing, I feel okay continuing. If this FF 67 and MSH 13 look in hand like they do in the images, I'll be very happy with the prices I paid.

Sounds good. I guess I'm just so used to the long time sellers around here being reliable and fair. I'm happy.

  3. Hi everyone!

I may be overreaching on availability and or the size of my wallet, but I believe there are Stephen King SS books out there. This is an official call for a WTB! All mockery of my ignorance encouraged!

    Thank you,

Not for sale unless you have way more money than sense.

  5. In what world does a buyer buy a set and the seller sends an incomplete set and somehow the buyer is unreasonable? (shrug)

    Dan

Well Dan you can pick your world, I laid that out earlier.

You guys are free to disagree, but the "small $25 difference" works both ways & if $25 is a reasonable reputation saving compensation amount then when would Dutch's demand become an unreasonable burden? $75? $100? What if he was a wacky completionist who felt the "set" was worthless, demanding $1800, since it's not 100% complete (he's clearly not ) Where do you draw the line?

It's in this post - I don't personally believe either the buyer or seller are being extremely unreasonable but I think assigning damages is challenging.

I don't recall us ever basing compensation on an unrealized replacement cost on a three year old unsold BIN - when the buyer doesn't plan to purchase - it's an interesting discussion to have I think considering most of these sell for under $20/copy.

I personally prefer branget's ownership of the problem as a solution over those who think throwing money at the problem is the solution - I think that ran its course over the past months with these two guys resulting in only two more books. Now we're down to the last one...please share your opinion of how much is too much & please don't wait for someone else to respond & just "plus one" it.

    :baiting:

Money is no issue. Buy a seller's advertised goods and expect to receive the goods. The seller must make the buyer whole for what he advertised. Why does it matter how much the seller has to spend to fulfill his obligation? Oh, and + 1. :acclaim:
