  1. I guess I missed it, but are we allowed to sell gift cards on here now?

    Dan

It was in the water cooler, lol.You can do lots of stuff there;) it's the principle;) not the card.

Got it. I suppose selling gift cards on a comic book forum, even if it's in the water cooler, will be a red flag for ALL of us from here on out!!!

  2. Over the last few years; I've been trying to pickup at least one commissioned piece of artwork when I go to a major convention. This year at Heroes Con; I asked Bob McLeod come up with Wolverine protecting Kitty Pryde. It didn't dawn on me at the time that I was asking him to come up with something similar to the UXM 141 cover and this is what he came up with:

I picked it up Friday and it has already been dropped off at the framers to get framed; so that I can add it to my wall of commissions.

Can't wait to see who will be at Heroes next year so I can start planning my next purchase.

Exceptional effort behind this commission, awesome piece!

Thanks, man! He really liked the concept and is familiar with Charles and his work. I'm relatively new to commissions, but I found that if you let an artist run with their own ideas, you get terrific results. Plus, pay the man!

  4. Does, "GLWTS!" in a sales thread still mean what it used to mean?

    Dan

Good luck with the scam, right?

So the guys posting "GLWTS!" on my thread are being asshats? That's great, I told them thanks! I thought it meant "Good Luck With The Sale". These forums are looking worse for me every day.

It does mean Good Luck With the Sale. Those guys were being genuine.

Sometimes the exclamation point is a hint of sarcasm. glwts is more subtle. lol

Sorry to bring it up, but it's the only way I knew certain prices were too high back in the day. It was a way to thread**** a thread without the ****

  5. that was a long time ago, and as I said to another. Make a thread, and I'll be happy to go back and dig it all up. It involves posts, PMs, a mod, another forum, and a bunch of other people.

It has nothing at all to do with what you posted. Which is of course, more untrue things. I did not say what you just tried to imply with those quotes. I never told anyone to meet me anywhere.

    You're lying.

I've told women to meet me but they never do.

Now I hate to act as a Kav historian, but didn't you claim in the Water Cooler that you had turned down model caliber women or some nonsense?

    I'll hang up and listen…

Don't forget the free lady advice he was offering.

  6. Several people have said it would only cost $100 to have this thing walked thru, as it would only be 3% of the FMV of a restored book. I dont believe they are correct. The original owner paid much much more for his walk thru and the new buyer would not be submitting the book as as a PLOD, but rather as a raw book.

This wasn't a hundred dollar shot in the dark, this was a $500 shot in the dark. Unless the new owner lives within driving distance of Sarasota, it was an $800 shot in the dark. Lets see where this book ends up for sale. I have my suspicions, already.

This was no "shot in the dark"!

I GUARANTEE you that this book was resubbed with a full explanation of its previous blue label by someone big enough to have confidence that CGC would change back the label with a wink and a smile. It's not the 1st time.

It'll be very interesting to see when and where this book ends up for sale because it certainly wasn't bought as a "keeper" by a collector.

Yikes. That's a pretty big GUARANTEE. And a heck of an accusation.

I'll just say this, after my Avengers 4 situation, I received enough info from boardies that are BEYOND trustworthy that makes me 100% confident that's what happened.

That really blows. This is a very sad and goofed up situation.
