  1. Sounds good - I hope the best for the new batch of purchases - on both ends! Dan
  2. In an earlier post today you said you slacked on shipping. Can the people that bought today expect the same, even though the books aren't raw and in your hands? I guess all I'm asking is it appropriate for a buyer to expect his or her books as soon as possible? The best deals I've done on these boards were bought, confirmed and shipped within 48 hours. So I know it is possible. Take someone's money, send them the thing they bought. Dan
  3. Ah, my mistake. Does that mean that the charges of not shipping in a timely manner are because the books are cgc'ed? Dan
  4. Have the people that bought raw from you today been invoiced? If so, are the books packed and ready to be shipped tomorrow or Monday with tracking numbers? My last $200 buy on these boards, this family, was shipped promptly and received in five days across country. Can you match that service or is that business model showing too much polish? Dan
  5. I'm not one for drama but seriously own up to your own mistakes, here is our PM exchange below, notice the dates - posted a "take" on your thread when it went up on 5/27, never got an invoice - I reached out to you on 6/17 because I had actually forgotten about the sale - you read the post 7 days later on the board, didn't reply - took two days after that to write back a "we're good if you still want it" - I replied back that day for your info and then again 7/9, nothing back from you - book pops up months later and is sold to someone else So, yeah, that's bad business IMO as a seller. No matter a $20 sale or a $2,000 one you need to follow through with sales in a timely fashion to gain my respect as a buyer and fellow seller. It is not the buyers responsibility to chase a seller down, that's ridiculous. Wow. Bullet dodged! Sorry this happened. Dan
  6. You actually just sold it out, so, no harm, no foul. Dan
  7. There's a book from him I want to buy, but I'd rather wait and see if he comes through on this current promise. Way too much money to gamble with. Dan
  8. I got the 4th World variant because it's my favorite cover. Not so much on the NYC one... Dan
  9. Fantastic cover!!! Congratulations on such a great acquisition! Dan
  10. Looking good, Speedy!!! Where on the pieces did Muth put his signature signature? Dan

We're done watching this mumble-jumble show at our household. Too many other well-written shows to keep track of to see if maybe this mess has legs. Dan

When a production company has to tell you, "but it's just the pilot..." you know they know it wasn't very good. It's the first fall back excuse on a crummy show. Dan

For me, I think there are probably strong actors on the show, but the writing was so darned awful bad, they were handcuffed from the very beginning. Good actors can't save bad writing. Dan

Why would you assume that? I went into the show knowing nothing about it. I didn't read any threads about it and I didn't watch any trailers. Nada. So I went into it entirely neutral. In fact, I knew so little about the show I actually thought it had been on the air for quite some time already (because I saw the display in SD in July) so I was quite surprised to find out from the boards that it was premiering Monday night and I caught it and watched it with an open mind. The only thing I could think about while watching was how it didnt' really engage me the way the 1st Walking Dead or the first Hell on Wheels episodes did. It was as simple as that. I wasn't engaged, even though I wanted to be. Well I thought about that, and also how Jada Pinkett stole the show. Hell on Wheels is a great show. Dan

No they don't. They're using buzzwords. "clunky".... really? It reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Peter Griffin says the meal tastes pedantic." It's a buzzword. It means nothing unless you expand upon it. YOUR explanation is a lot better than saying things that are fairly vague and ambiguous. Edit: peter also says the Godfather "insists upon itself." A ridiculously poor observation that is meaningless. Kind of like what some of the reviews here are like. I would have to think a good portion of reviews on these boards went into the show with a negative attitude, making it hard to find anything likable in the pilot. Nerd culture is it's own worst enemy. Actually, most nerds love nerd culture. But we're quick to punish the unworthy. Dan

I'm on the edge of my keyboard. It's a Sound Poem. You have to read it aloud. Dan

Those words weren't too juicy for me. Then drink your fill, fine fellow, drink your fill. Dan

Ah, yes. Anti-intellectualism rears its PC head. Art evokes feelings, people use words to describe their feelings about art. Sorry these words were too juicy for yours and Family Guy's palate. Maybe badly written and poorly acted suit your fancy? Dan

+1 +2. Very eloquent. Not forced or stilted at all. Dan
  20. So, it seems the way to do it is to undergrade your books and just be sure to overprice them as that can't be criticized! Dan

I thought the writing was forced and stilted. Also, the cat lady was VERY deliberate and clunky. I thought it would have been funny if she fell off that tombstone. Dan
  22. Bobby is the real deal. Quick and safe shipping - solid communication and a wonderful deal on an amazing book! Dan
