  1. These did really well just before the release of the recent movie.
  2. If you look at the logo on the ASM, the edges aren't sharp. Clearly not an original.
  3. I'm sure. The "found in a warehouse" is so the seller can claim ignorance. But you'd think they could come up with a better story than basically admitting that they were stolen, rather than that they made fakes.
  4. "Bidders, be aware that this comic was found, among others, in an abandoned warehouse, & is a possible misprint." Um, *someone* owns that warehouse. So basically the seller is confirming that the book was stolen.
  5. Wait, so did they or didn't they name him in the comic? Because if they didn't, then what we have is someone who just looks like Rocky, but isn't Rocky. As for why it never took off, Rocky isn't a comic character, and I've never been aware that there are hardcore Rocky collectors, so maybe that's why?
  6. I spent all that time mashing up Thomas Kinkade and Marvel Comics, and then I found out today that HE DID IT HIMSELF! https://twitter.com/JamieLovett/status/1568244522504622082/photo/1
  7. No, but he did acknowledge at about 1:17:00 that he is "not on the up and up"
  8. I've seen this guy (I'm assuming it's the same guy) at NYCC a couple times. This year one of my favorite mashup costumes was Sailor Moon Knight. (Sorry, didn't get a pic.)
  9. What all of this ignores is that fans *like* arguing about this stuff.
  10. Not sure whether it qualifies as a rarity, but there was a NYCC Miracleman exclusive given away at one of the Marvel panels this weekend.
  11. You should call them up and ask for information about where they are. Note I'm not saying you should ask for compensation for packages that the system should indicate are pretty much lost, because of the way they handled things, but they need to learn a lesson about tracking things better, and making them sweat a bit over packages potentially worth thousands is maybe a good idea.
  12. nexusofni32 Bid on about a dozen books. After the auctions closed (on a Sunday), he asks if he could have until Friday to pay. I've got other stuff going on, so I figure that gives me an extra day or two to send an invoice with combined shipping, so sure. Messages me a couple days later because there's one more book he meant to bid on. It had run at auction a few times already, so I just switched it to a BIN so he could add it on. He does, then decides the next day that he doesn't want 3 of the books (including the BIN). I cancel those because he's still buying a bunch, and send the invoice. Friday rolls around and he decides he doesn't want any of them now.
  13. On the black and silver edition, the bagged and unbagged covers look different. But for this edition, the cover looks the same, so CGC only notes on the slab that it is the polybagged version if they removed the book from the polybag themselves, and can therefore verify it was the polybagged version. (This is my understanding, anyway; I had been looking into the various versions a while back.) Regarding grey or purple webs, the color of the webs is created from cyan, magenta, and yellow ink. If the yellow is running a little light, or the cyan or magenta is running a little strong, then it could appear purple rather than grey. On a large print run, it is difficult to maintain perfect consistency in color, especially on a color like a light gray that is created from percentages of three different inks, so variations in color is common. This is one of the reasons that the Hulk was grey in his first appearance, but changed to green in issue 2; green is easier to keep consistent.
  14. I realized that I have a Hardware #1 Collectors Edition that's been signed by McDufffie and another (forget who) on the bag. So the actual comic is still untouched.
  15. If it helps, I just sold a Super Mario Bros 4 CGC 7.5 for about $80. Not a first issue, not super-high grade. I got dinged on a couple of Nintendo books for rusty staples, so be sure to take a look at that. If it's 8.0 or better, I'd say submit it.
  16. In case you missed it: https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/10675/comics-newsstand-multipack/?fbclid=IwAR238Tx-3xscvlH2x7ow3sM4Lgss6KQhJfwjPnTmN3i1ADgTxKZZy5FPp0M
  17. If you click on the number sold link, it shows purchases at 3.99. They probably used the wrong listing template
  18. The thing is, if this was a Marvel book from 1977 with multiple first appearances and the re-intro of a team, it would go for thousands. But the recent ungraded copies of this book have sold for as little as $1 and pretty much no higher than $20, so it's tough to get an idea of value.
  19. I don't have GPA. Is this out of the ordinary for this book? Ongoing television show and multiple first appearances helps. https://www.ebay.com/itm/204090416421?_trkparms=ni_actn%3Anav|ni_nt%3AWATCH_ITEM_ENDING_SOON|ni_apos%3A1|ni_sg%3A1|ni_pos%3A1|ni_st%3AREAD|ni_wh%3A1|ni_nid%3A561891026859|ni_nsid%3A204090416421|ni_et%3A1663556280000|ni_bn%3A1&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&autorefresh=true&nma=true&si=gPn%2BNnYflDwkL1Vxcr6jXSvUrNo%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc
  20. Thanks. I'm really not sure who needs to be aware of this, but if you should know and give them a heads-up, I would really appreciate it.
  21. @CGC Mike I got a second package on Wednesday, and the same thing; FedEx doesn't bother to obtain a signature, and just drops the package. Also, with both shipments, the box was in rougher shape than when I typically get boxes back from CGC via USPS. On both of them, the tape at the bottom of the box has been broken (one of them on both sides of the bottom), and the interior cardboard protection is crunched up a bit. Fortunately there's no damage to the books or the slabs, but it's obvious from the condition of the boxes that FedEx is not treating them as well as USPS did. I imagine the number of books that suffer from "Shaken Comic Syndrome" is going to rise, with the way FedEx is handling the packages.
  22. If it turns out to not be a secret Bad Idea book, I think the creator of this book is going to get an unreasonable expectation for future sales. It would be cool if it isn't a Bad Idea book, but it turns out to be really good, and gives the book a boost because of mis-placed speculation.
