  1. I had shipments like this a while back. I thought they were going to start using more packaging tape, but I guess that was temporary.
  2. 6 sales in the last 3 years. 2 for about $260, the other 4 roughly in the $700-750 range
  3. The videogame art is a copy/swipe of this though, I think. Or else the same pencils but different inks? (I don't remember exactly, but this discussion popped up somewhere else at some point, maybe in the cover swipes thread?). I think it's just that it's a popular Jim Lee cover, along with it being a 9.8 Newsstand, in a period when Newsstands were on the decline.
  4. I work for a small design studio, and we have some clients that are large corporations with an in-house marketing department, but they don't handle all of their artwork needs in-house. They do some, but I think the nature of the work is that you get periods where there is a lot of creative needs, and periods where there's very little. And companies don't like to pay for people to sit around when there is very little. So they deal with outside studios on a project basis.
  5. I doubt they have enough design needs to have an in-house team. They probably work with a design studio that has CGC as one of a number of clients.
  6. It's annoying AF that the PMG and CSG logos each use a different typeface than all of the others.
  7. I assumed that page were basically the leaders of various teams of graders, not all of the graders.
  8. Yeah, it's been a while since I've had a shipment that hasn't included a slab that had to be sent back for ME. And that includes shipments that were already sent back for ME. I just sent 8 or so books back from a shipment of 14 ME books. Most of those 14 were from a single shipment of 25 that initially came back.
  9. Assuming this book is by the same seller as the VF- ASM books, I'm guessing that the seller simply isn't aware of how much stains and/or staple rust brings down a book. Probably thinks that creasing is the main factor bringing down the grade (as the books look to be relatively crease-free). But yeah, still way over-graded.
  10. My guess is that she may have been a cosplayer/"booth babe" for the Spawn tour
  11. arturoescobar84 Another non-paying bidder. Feedback shows he's done it to others as well.
  12. Should it even matter, since the seller admitted what he did?
  13. I hope you got this at a significant discount to the sticker price.
  14. I think we're all going to have different opinions on what's obvious and what isn't.
  15. Dan Slott did a signing in NYC the day the book came out. He posted on Twitter what is now his only slab; an SS-copy that he bought from the store, signed, and submitted. He has big plans for the character.
  16. Is there some obscure variant or error (Direct Edition; not a Newsstand) to Wolverine #1 (1988) that would make a 9.0 worth over $300?
  17. Welcome to the boards! Bookmark this: https://www.cgccomics.com/account/my-submissions/tracking/ When your submission is checked in, it will show up here as received. When they start pressing, it will show as "CCS in Process (or Progress)" as Lightning mentioned. When that's done and it goes to grading, it will show as received by CGC. And then updates again as it goes through the grading process.
  18. Sweet. Key Collector is still calling this a cameo, but the sequence he's in is multiple pages, so I think it's fine to call it a full appearance. Ebon is teased in issue 6 of Season One, but it's basically just his voice in the shadows. Still a good pickup though, since I'm sure there are fewer of those than Shadows of Dakota #1.
  19. If I was looking to flip, I wouldn't be picking out a lot of mid-run Milestones.
  20. To be fair, many of the books he had definitely weren't dollar bin books. He had a copy of Static 1 Platinum, 2 copies of Static 45, and other late-run books that tend to sell for a bit more. But many of those books weren't bagged and/or showed damage. But a lot of the books that I was interested in were earlier-run, non-key books, many of them not in top condition, that I wasn't expecting to be more than $2-3 each. Which I would have happily paid to have the books as placeholders until I found better copies.
  21. What is "JC" (I'm assuming not Joker's Child, since you said to avoid it)? I did go to Main Street as well. I've mainly been hunting Milestone books, and they did have a longbox in storage which they let me flip through. They had a number of tough-to-find books, but they weren't in the best condition, and they did their pricing based on eBay asking prices. Even for common non-keys, they said the prices were going to be about 10/book (for books that are basically dollar-bin books).
