  1. Let's not reinforce stereotypes about how comics fans stereotype women, please. I know you're kidding. I know you mean no harm. Just please go the next step and imagine a woman reading this who's been hit by someone who called her a pain in the . They're out there and more of them are in our community than ever. These jokes might be a lot funnier if we didn't live in a world where men use exactly that kind of thinking, for real, to justify violence against women. And there is a lot of violence against women. Please no lectures on having a sense of humor, folks. I do. I've literally worked for Comedy Central. I just don't find these jokes funny and the upside of resisting them is we don't perpetuate this thinking OR the stereotypes about comic fans and women. All I'm asking is that we not say here what we wouldn't say to a woman's face. Thanks. EDIT: Its not worth it. exactly !!! I'm sure that person is not a Dude but is a woman and will come back on here and attack you as well next.....

All I'm asking is that we not say here what we wouldn't say to a woman's face. Thanks. I say that in my woman's face on a regular, NEVER once have i struck her nor has she ever made a comment such as what i just read from you nor has she been offended by that either.... let's not turn this comic forum into one of those politically correct nonsense blogs. I recall people saying throughout threads in many forums i frequent " If you don't like what someone posted simply don't respond and just keep it going" why try to provoke arguement?
  3. Same exact thing happen to me last year around March or April as i gotten back into this hobby as well. went through 5 or so short boxes of my comics all were 90s, had a a few sneaker boxes filled of comics as well. as i was finishing bagging and boarding tons of loose comics i had, i stumbled upon this BA#12 and i was literally about to toss it in the garbage and just forget about it. Let me tell you something... CONGRATS !!! keep that comic and pay to have CGC grade it. thats what i did with mine. i thought it would have been a better grade but it turned out to be a 6.5. whatever.... I'm happy to have a issue that is now a KEY issue of Batman and his characters. even if you just get rid of it you can sell a raw copy from $100-150. if you grade it and its mint you can make some good cash off of it. people are trying to sell these in the $1,000 range and even higher nowadays, and the crazy part about it some people are actually getting those amounts. good luck and keep us updated about yours Also when that comic came out in 92-93 i didn't think women had cooties. i did know they had back then that they were all pain in the asses... and thats is true of course
  4. the fact of the matter is her first appearance in the EOSV#2 is selling like hot cakes, im sure her #1 issue of her new series will be the same as well... i don't believe she'll be having the same popularity as Harley Quinn but she will continue to rise in stardom. Worse case scenario she goes to say 46 issues like the the original spidey 2099 and then she disappears for awhile and they bring her back. ORR they just make her a regular in the current 616 earth.
  5. Been awhile since i posted, i see everyone has been finding some good stuff as of lately. i need to hit the flea market again soon. just been hard over the holidays and stuff.
  6. Ehhhhh....maybe. Five years ago, no one cared about Harley. That's nearly two decades of obscurity. History has shown that obscurity isn't permanent...and neither is the spotlight. I have to agree with you on this.... when i was considering getting rid all of comics 5 plus years ago, no one was searching for this like a madman. it went unnoticed and people claimed everything from the copper era was just mass produced and unwanted.... until the past couple of years Harley all of sudden got hot. Hell even when i got back into comic collecting last year march, while i was going through a couple of old sneaker boxes i had with comics over at my parents house i found this title and was damn near close to not bagging and boarding it but simply throwing it out in the garbage. I of course ended up getting my copy CGC and keeping it considering im a big Batman series fan. I said it once before and i'll say it again, Harley now is like what Lobo was back in the 90s.... Got ridiculously Popular, was not a hero but something else, and lobo was like Harley is now which is all over the place. TONS and TONS of 1-shot issues, mini series etc. while Lobo disappeared until they just came out with this new teen wolf/twilight movie looking lobo one can only imagine what will happen to harley come the next 5 years or so. needless to say Now her first appearance is a hot cake so let it continue to be one.
  7. Congrats on the find !!! out of curiousity what does one pay or offer someone for 29 boxes of comics?
  8. i really need to get my Mad love graded. im almost certain it would receive a 9.8
  9. Because nowadays society wants to deem anything and everything inappropriate .... from breaking bad toys to late night tv shows with a mature audience suggested to fast food. quite sad really.... IMO the manara variant is fine, its too provocative for "certain" people.
  10. I'm quite sure this book will be on fire and sell out in minutes when it hits stores. especially If her first appearance is going for $30 to $40 bucks a pop. I also agree with everyone else here. those slippers look horrid. hopefully they can change them into some spider boots or something.
  11. Very awesome find !! i'd hold onto that Carnage set. it might go up in value as the new supposed movie comes out.
  12. Finally had time to snap a quick pic of the of lot i won on a bid on ebay. all of them were in good shape i feel, the glow in the dark cover had a tiny crease very hard to see with a picture. i also was able to pick up that Hero comic from IDW this week from my LCS
  13. funny you should post those aliens and predator figure. apparently another company has remade a bunch of predators and aliens and predators and they are selling like crazy.. i just purchased an Ahab Predator from the new Fire and stone series this week on ebay. i think the older ones sealed should be worth something..
  14. apparently you all have been keeping up with your 21 year old cartoon series.... i used to love watching that after i got home from school. it was the shiznit
  15. It's real of course, just not published in 1993. Why don't you think it was published in 1993? Because there's no evidence that it was. Fair enough. But. 65 episodes had aired by Sep 1993, with Harley's first appearance being in 'Joker's Favour', Sep 11, 1992. As we all know, cartoons aren't just about entertainment, they're also about selling merchandise. The toys, for example, were out in '92 or '93, depending on who you ask. I'm not advocating that this coloring book is collectable. I'm just saying, as a BTAS buff, it could have been published in '93. If you want to make money from a successful cartoon, you'd be getting every bit of merchandise you can out there, pronto. considering i was literally watching BTAS about a month ago, i recall Harley first appeared in the Second season of BTAS. she had a very small part. and i believe that was around 92-93. As far a coloring book goes, i doubt it'll start catching any value.... i don't believe CGC will start grading coloring books, and quite frankly its ridiculous to think people would actually spend any coin on a coloring book with her in it... besides those hard core Harley fans.
  16. They're terribly frightened. But I remember when they first came out...$60 each! I ended up buying about 30 of them for $1 each back in the early 00's... i mean't to type scarce yea i also recall seeing them back in the days usually located on the shelve behind the comic guy and the prices back in the 90s were about $30 to $40 bucks.
  17. just won an auction on ebay and ended up landing max 1 glow in the dark. #1,2,3,4,6 and a gold copy of the wizard mini maxx comic. anyone know how scared the glow in the dark #1 titles are? i see them on ebay but alot of them are in some condition.
  18. For a quarter each is bad really ?? i personally like old Sam keith's Maxx.
  19. as i said in my last post i ended up getting both maxx #1 and darker image #1 for a quarter each
  20. i was able to snag up 2 issue # 1's at my LCS yesterday both for a quarter each and a darker image as well. pics up asap.
  21. now i see it !! (thumbs u very nice !!! as i started looking on ebay for certain copies. i noticed they aren't too easy to find. and i recall my one of last posts a few pages back saying these are all over the $1,00 bins. true they are but im sure its damn hard to get majority of these graded and with a 9.8 grading.
  22. does anybody have a picture or pictures of their extensive Maxx collection?
  23. So out of curiousity does anybody have a full set of maxx 1-35 CGC ? or better yet all maxx issues CGC 9.8 grade ? that right there would be a marvelous set.
  24. I'm going to have to pick this one up next week for sure !!! on another note i was deciding i would like to restart my original Maxx set. i'm pissed i got rid of issues 2-7. as i looked today at my local comic shop were i traded them and numerous other titles 6 months back for store credit they are now selling my issues for $6.00 bucks a pop.... As for Sam Keith, i was recently reading an article saying he was ready for that comic book artist retirement. So this is defintely a shocker. will this be a free issue or one with a price on it ?
