If it was just a "throwaway panel" that no one cared about why not just come up with his own in the first place? Just make a generic panel and then have at it.
-
I don't know. The names of those paintings is pretty deep.
-
Someone else's work-for-hire product, one panel out of a totally forgettable whole, was the starting point for something he transformed into art which most educated people outside of a handful of indignant comic fans consider to be truly great.
Most educated people think it is truly great? Do they?

I'm glad it was fine. The only point of my post was it seems a bit odd to me to have reservations and still make a final payment. That's all.
-
So he made the final payment and then opened up a dispute 1 day later? That just seems wacky.
Before assuming anything go back and read all the details. I don't blame the buyer for being concerned.
I don't think I missed anything.

Thanks all. It wasn't anyone who responded.
I'll send him a PM.

So I posted an I'll take it on a book a while ago (9/19). There was an immediate PM from the seller asking me if I wanted anything else and he was going to be posting more books. I responded that I would take a look and see what he had. That was the last correspondence we had.
I'm not posting because I'm bothered about not getting the book. In all honesty it was a bit of an impulse buy and I don't really care one way or the other. It wasn't huge dollars ($20 plus shipping). I guess what I'm asking is if I am supposed to contact the seller about it. If I don't, is there some period of time where I can safely assume the transaction has died? I don't want to go against board etiquette on this and I would certainly pay if I received an invoice.
Thanks

Why would anyone bother after reading this thread? Is it really worth the risk?
-
Is there such a thing as a non-interesting or non-cool date stamp?

Scotch acid free removable tape. They are the same stickiness as the post-it notes.
Beat me to it. This is what I use.
I'm going to have to get me some of that.
-
As someone new to comic book collecting the whole tape things just seems crazy to me. I would have thought someone would have come up with an alternative that is way more comic book safe by now.
-
I notice I don't receive many comics in resealable bags that don't need tape. Do people not like them?

Was the part where he listed it as a 1.0 smaller than the rest of the description? Just playing devil's advocate here. He put up a picture and listed the grade. Seems pretty straight forward.

Please consider adding Randomstuff704.
Long story short, after making contact, then taking the conversation to non ebay email, we agreed to a trade. I sent my books and he decided not to trade. No problem, i said, please send the books back. He never did. He even says he did, then i asked for tracking info and he never replied or supplied it. Basically stole $1000 worth of books from me.
Coincidentally at the same time he made an offer on a DD1 i had for sale. I asked to keep the deals separate, he didnt realize until my email that we had 2 deals going on. Anyway, he had my trade books already. We finished the DD1 purchase smoothly... The issue and my first red flag was that he does not have a paypal acct. He had to use someone elses paypal acct to pay. THat made me wonder, but he already had my trade books. The rest of the story is above. Still have the emails and my tracking info that he got my books.
He sold me a pricey book last year. After the book was in my closet, he emails me and asks me to cancel the sale because I never got it. I was like, ahh...what? I deduced he was trying to get out of the ebay sales fee.
You should have cancelled the sale and then put in a claim to get your money back.

Very nice.

ARG unveiled the Death Dealer statue at NYCC. This was a NYCC exclusive that went for $785. I'm praying the regular version is a bit cheaper, but not holding out much hope.
-
My buddy just got that Red Sonja. Awesome statue. If I wasn't saving up for a different one that would definitely be on my list.
-
Isn't one of the two bigger than the other? I would think they could handle more volume.
-
Assuming you can take more than a few days to pay kind of seems like a d bag move without clearing it first. Even more so on a larger purchase.
-
Did you try and call Ebay?
-
I'm not sure exactly what is going on with this, but seems like someone might want to know about this ebay seller.

EDIT: I meant seller, not buyer.

I responded to a CL add today. Guy wanted $350 for maybe $100 worth of books assuming his grading was dead on (he gave them all very high grades). He did inform me though that was a very good price. And this was for maybe 10% of his total books he has priced at $750 in total and these are not the most valuable ones he listed.

Today I went to an antique shop that I've never been to before, got a few good books for $2.50 each- Batman Mad Love 1st print, Superman 500 platinum sealed, R Crumb's ZAP #4 original, a few 1971 Creepy mags and then this happened... Almost full, has 29 sealed packs....
Don't eat the gum.

Did I? Did anyone recognize the panel at the time? Did they know where it came from?
