  1. Refused to give you his address? I would like to see that exchange.
  2. Its hard to take the urgency of getting the books shipped when the check was mailed if the buyer never even bothered to send his address. And the buyer repeatedly giving more time only managed to make things much worse for himself. At some point you have to take some responsibility for your own actions. I still think the seller is stealing money at this point, but man the buyer could not have possibly made worse decisions throughout.
  3. I would like to see the exact exchange related to shipping the books the day the check was mailed. And if that was the agreement, when was the address sent to the seller?
  4. One more comment and we have seen this before. It is 2021. Stop sending checks. Based on what was posted I'm assuming that was the buyer's choice. I certainly wouldn't ask to pay by check and also ask my books to be shipped before the check clears. That doesn't let the seller off the hook for agreeing to send the books and not doing it, but it just makes everything way more complicated than it needed to be.
  5. I do think the buyer had every right to cancel the transaction. It seems the agreement up front was to ship the books the day the check was mailed. It seems pretty clear the seller had was never going to do that. To me that is breaking the agreement. Having said that, the buyer then allowed this to drag out. That is on him and while he probably had good intentions for doing so, you can't put the cat bag in the bag so to speak. He agreed on a "new" set of rules at that point. I will say that cashing the check and then not giving the money back right away when it was cancelled that day if I'm reading things right is about as close to theft as it comes for me. I know that sounds harsh, but no one cares about what money problems a business has. If he did indeed know that deal was cancelled at the same time he was depositing the check that is just wrong.
  6. In honor of Frank's birthday, my "wall of Frazetta".
  7. Frank's birthday today. I nice tribute from Lori she posted on Facebook. In Remembrance Most people know Frank Frazetta as the artist. Being in the family for over 40 years, I knew Frank as simply "Dad" & "Grandpa". The genius artist he was did not define him. I never really knew Frank, the artist! He was 1st a husband, father & grandfather. As soon as I would walk into his studio with the kids, he would immediately get down on the floor and roll around with the grandkids no matter the masterpiece he would be working on. I would often say to Frank Jr, "Your dad lives life the way we all should." He wasn't materialistic nor did care about material things. He was a very humble man with a kind soul. What was important to him was his children and grandchildren. Gatherings on holidays with an abundance of good Italian food and all the noise that came with it! He loved his PA estate with the beauty of the land, lake and all the animals that resided on his 67 acre wooded estate. He would walk across the field to our house, camera around his neck hoping to get the perfect picture! He appreciated all of you who followed and supported his art! He knew without all of you, he would not have been the icon he became! So on this day, which would have been his 93rd birthday, I wanted to say, "Happy Birthday Dad/Grandpa/Frank Frazetta" and "thank you" to you all for your continued support in Frank's legacy! It is said, "You never truly die until the last person who says your name!" Frank lives on because of all of you and the memories shared by his family!
  8. I don't even remember what the links were for to be honest.
  9. This site is very nice for looking at covers of Creepy and Eerie. They have others as well. http://www.coverbrowser.com/
  10. So this isn't something I would normally pay for a graded copy. I walked into my LCS yesterday and the owner calls me over. He meant to buy one of these. He bought 11 by mistake. I got it for less the price of slabbing.
  11. Here is a website of his work. I just saw him post some stuff on Facebook and messaged him if he would sell any and we went from there. He was very easy to deal with and I think he was very reasonable with his prices. https://zabarts.blogspot.com/?fbclid=IwAR07lkMN0NDd5u2WKFl9G9S-vHKYuWU1W3flQxyWwtGhkbSQ9dLIC3n8ljA
  12. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vampirella-1-1969-COMPLETE-NEAL-ADAMS-REED-CRANDALL-ARTWORK-HOT-/324477507508?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276
  13. It was total spur of the moment. Right after I paid I freaked out and realized I probably should have researched a bit more. But after I did I realized I made a very good choice. I doubt I will go crazy with this as I just don't have the money it would require.
  14. I've just been holding out hope, but yeah at this point I should. Value of about $100.
  15. Unfortunately there has been zero movement on this. I actually believe at this point it is lost and it will not turn up.
  16. So something different, but I'm too excited not to post it here. I bought my first original art and wanted to show it off. Is it Vampirella? Close enough for me. The artist is Doc Zab who does work on the The Creeps magazine. Of course these pictures suck but I didn't realize until I had safely packed these away.
  17. Not sure if this is OK to post as it is not "comic" art. But I bought my first ever original art. By Doc Zab who does some illustrations for the new Warrent magazines (The Creeps and Vampiress). Here you can see some more of his artwork. I realized after I packed everything away these pictures kind of suck.
  18. Wow. When was the signing and did you have the book pressed?
  19. We mailed a package from NJ to PA three weeks ago. It has been sitting in Florida for over two weeks. Yes, Florida.
  20. Just to add to my post above. I put these facebook live into two groups. Actual comic shops that hold these sales and internet only sellers. Not you can clearly see that both have their group of loyal buyers. But man, I have seen some comic shops that just blow me away. And without fail the amazing ones are on the other side of the country. I honestly didn't know places like this exist. Racks and racks of graded comics. More keys than you can imagine. The one shop had more horror magazines than I seen in every shop I had been in combined. As I type this I realize this is totally random and has nothing to do with this thread.
