  1. Pebble In The Sky by Isaac Asimov Galaxy Science Fiction Novel No. 14 1st PB, 1st Printing 1953 $30 SOLD to piper Cover art by Richard Powers. These Galaxy Novel Digest are pretty common in general but very tough in nice shape due to the flimsy paper covers Fine Plus. Super glossy, appears unread. Great off white page quality. Light toning to covers. Tiny chipping to lower right pages, mostly at rear. Unusual to see one like this.
  2. Going to get back with some really nice Science Fiction pbs... In case anyone is wondering, many of these unread 50's books came to me in what I called the HiGrade collection, which I bought about 1000 books out of, including many glossy unread copies, some in multiples. The Martian Way and Other Stories by Isaac Asimov Signet S1433 1st PB, 1st Printing September 1957 $25 SOLD to Tupenny Conan Cover art by Richard Powers. An insane copy. Tough to find Signets with no creases. Very Fine. Covers bright and glossy, obviously unread. Great off white page quality. Light toning to interior. Traces of storage wear. A condition rarity of a cool 1st PB for sure.
  3. Maguire did a bunch of covers for Jack Webb's hard boiled books at Signet. Here's a fave that is ridiculously tough to find in high grade for obvious reasons.

I have a ton more similar stuff to list throughout the weekend and if my hand slows me down I may extend the sale past the weekend if there continues to be interest.   5. The Monster Men by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace F-182 1963 $7 SOLD to mrlatko This is the First paperback edition with a nice Frazetta Monster/Good Girl cover. Very Good/Very Good Plus. Glossy, and lightly read. Has a couple of light creases on front, usual toning to pages and inside covers. Still a collectible copy that can be read and priced accordingly.
  6. The Rider by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace 72280 October 1974 $10 SOLD to mrlatko First paperback edition and only the third book publication. Moody Frazetta cover with great detail. A real stunner that I've found very difficult to find a high grade copy of. This only recently became my undercopy. Very Good Plus/Fine minus. Super glossy, appears lightly read. Light reader crease, has a few light finger bends with a bit of color loss. Still a very collectible copy that can still be read and priced accordingly.
  7. Carson of Venus by Edgar Rice Burroughs Ace 09203 $12 SOLD to mrlatko Moody Frazetta cover. Later print of the Ace "Tall" edition. Fine/Very Fine. Super glossy, appears unread. No reader crease, has a light finger bend on rear cover and slight curl to bottom edge. A great looking copy.
  8. Bran Mak Morn by Robert E. Howard Dell 0774 1969 $20 SOLD to mrlatko Great Howard tales of the savage Picts and one of Frank Frazetta's best pb covers imho. Scarcer than most of the Ace's and tough in nice shape with the dark covers. Fine plus. Super glossy, square and bright. Light reader crease and tiny corner wear. Pages are creamy and supple with minimal cover toning.
  9. Possess Me Not by Fan Nichols Avon Books No. 346 1951 $25 SOLD to microbia A beautiful copy of an amazing Robert Crowl nude Good Girl art cover PB. Fine plus. Fantastic gloss, near perfect lamination, Bright, square and tight. Cover very slightly pulled back. Pages are creamy with minimal cover toning. Page edge color is slightly uneven. A very attractive copy with a great GGA cover.

Hell Bent With Jake by Russell La Due Avon Books No. 467 September 1952 $12 Now $10 Nice Hard Boiled Good Girl art cover by noted paperback artist Victor Olson in the emerging Avati "realism" style of the time. Fine minus. Tough to grade, looks lightly read. Has rubbing wear and tear on spine edge. Light grease pen on cover. Binding is slightly uneven but the book is bright and tight. Pages are off white with minimal cover toning. A fresh looking copy.

  12. The Case of the Untidy Murder by Frances and Richard Lockridge Avon Books No. 242 1950 $20 Sold to Other Eric Beautiful Good Girl art cover from the Golden Age of Avon. Fine Plus. Appears unread. Bright and tight. Binding is slightly slanted. Pages are creamy with minimal cover toning. A superior copy.
  13. See What I Mean? Lewis Browne Avon 54 1944 Scarce Anti Nazi propaganda book $35 Now $28 Amazing cover art by pulp fiction artist Paul Stahr Very Good. Solid spine, pages tight and supple but browning as usual. Moderate creasing and edgewear. Bright colors. An attractive copy of a scarce vintage paperback that is usually trashed when found at all. If this was a comic book.....
  14. Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett Pocket Books 241 1st Printing October 1943 $40 Now $35 I believe the first Pocket Hammett pb. The first paperback edition with a classic Art Deco cover by Hoffman. Scarce in the 1st printing in nice condition. Another tough nice condition wartime book. These books got passed around like cheap dames and then tossed to the curb. Fine plus. Probably the best copy I've seen. Solid spine, tight binding, pages tight and supple. The thick covers are super smooth and only have a light finger bend in the lower right corner. Light page toning, only a trace of edgewear. Overall a very superior copy of a historic early hard boiled vintage paperback.
  15. The Dain Curse by Dashiell Hammett Pocket Books 295 1st Printing May 1945 $35 Now $30 Another iconic early hard boiled paperback. The first paperback edition with a gorgeous pictorial cover. Scarce in the 1st printing in nice condition. These wartime books are tough to find nice. Fine. Solid spine, tight binding, pages tight and supple. The thick covers have a few light finger bends in them that don't break color. Name in light pencil inside on title page. Only a hint of edgewear. Overall a very collectible copy of a classic cover vintage paperback.
  16. The High Window by Raymond Chandler Pocket Books 320 1st Printing September 1945 $30 Now $25 An iconic early hard boiled paperback. The first paperback edition and a highly recognized classic with a great art deco cover by E Mcknight Kauffer. Scarce in the 1st printing in nice condition. Very Good/Very Good+ Solid spine has slant, tight binding, pages tight and supple. The thick covers have some long bends in them that don't break color on the front and only lightly on the back. Name in ---script on front endpaper. Only a hint of edgewear. Overall a very collectible copy of a classic cover vintage paperback.

A spectacular unread copy of a true 1st Edition. Tougher than "Frolix 8" generally. Bright whites, almost no interior toning and only a trace of edgewear. A proud copy of a tough white cover 1st.

It may be a bit slow of a roll out. Let's start with a little more Science Fiction before we get to some classics. Our Friends From Frolix 8 by Philip K. MR. Ace 64400 June 1970. First Book Edition, PBO precedes the SFBC Hardcover. $40 SOLD to piper Cover art by John Schoenherr Near Very Fine. A spectacular unread copy of a true 1st Edition. Not a rare book generally but certainly in this condition. Light interior toning and a couple of tiny bits of edgewear. If you want the best, here it is.
  19. Strange Fulfillment by Denys Val Baker Pyramid Books F681 December 1961 $20 SOLD to jimjum12 First paperback edition of strange short stories by the Arkham House author. Stated second printing, although I've never seen a first. Scarce weird title with a creepy photo cover by Lester Krauss. Fine/Very Fine. Glossy and unread. Black covers are in great shape with only a touch of wear. Has a very light line on rear cover, looks like an ink defect. Pages and interior covers are creamy and very nice for this book. A very nice looking copy of a scarce book.
