  1. OK. I need a dinner break, maybe even a beer, it is friday after all I have plenty more books to post but for now, feel free to look around, make offers or just comment in the meantime.
  2. Emotions of Fire Peggy Gaddis Venus Books No. 123 One that's on every GGA collectors want list. $50 SOLD to goldust40 Classic Rudy Nappi Headlights cover. She'll put your eye out with those. Very Good. Tight spine and centerfold page at staples. Staples have some rust. Light spine color flaking and slightly rolled. Light edgewear and edge creasing. Hard to find with a smooth cover like this.
  3. Girl of the Slums Albert L. Quandt Venus Books No. 121 $30 SOLD to goldust40 Rudy Nappi GGA Headlights Digest cover by one of the best artists in the genre. Very Good minus. Tight spine and centerfold page at staples. Staples pretty clean. Light spine color flaking and slightly rolled. Some cover creasing, light edgewear and edge creasing. Very bright colors and overall a nice copy of a digest that is tough to find in any condition.
  4. The Naked Night Norman Bligh Venus Books No. 120 $30 SOLD to goldust40 Owen Kampen GGA cover Very Good. Tight spine and centerfold page at staples. Staples pretty clean. Light spine color flaking. Very light cover creasing, light edgewear. Back cover has a bit of dust soiling as do a few of the pages. Pages are cream and supple. Bright colors and overall a nice copy of a sweet Good Girl art digest that is tough to find in any condition.
  5. Carlotta (Fandango) Robert Briffault Avon Monthly Novel 13 $30 SOLD to Microbia A scarce early Avon Digest with a spectacular Good Girl art cover by Raymond Johnson that was re-used as the cover to Avon/Realistic comic book Intimate Confessions #3 Very Good/Very Good+. Solid binding, staples clean and strong. Tiny bindery chipping. Nice pages. The book has been read but no major wear, no pieces missing from front or back and the binding is 100% intact. A nice presenting copy of a scarce vintage paperback digest.
  6. This one gets right to the heart of the Golden Age of Vintage Paperbacks... The Neon Wilderness Nelson Algren Avon 222 1949 $30 SOLD to goldust40 Classic Raymond Johnson cover with the red-dressed Prostitute imposed over a seedy Chicago nightlife scene that was later re-used by Avon/Realistic on the famous comic book Intimate Confessions #1. Like most of the vintage paperbacks Avon re-used, the colors and image depth are so much more impressive on the paperback than on the comic book (and are priced so much more reasonably) Very Good minus - hard to grade this one since it is worn by storage rather than reading wear - looks like a never read copy that was dropped and dinged/tore the cover a bit. Spine is square and tight. Pages tanning but still supple. No reader crease, very minor edge creasing and wear. Tear to the spine and lower cover through a few pages. Spotting on the back cover. Despite the mentioned flaws, the cover maintains high gloss and is still a nicely presenting copy of one of the great classic vintage paperback covers.
  7. One more of these newer books then back to the Golden Age... The She Devil Robert E. Howard Conan 1983 Ace 1st Edtion PB $7 Sweet Jodi Penalva GGA cover Very Good. Solid spine, pages tight and supple. Has a fair amount of creasing along spine but very little in the way of cover creases. A pretty nice copy.
  8. Thanks man! Excellent choices. Both of these earlies are out of that High Grade collection I acquired recently. There's more Ace's but I still have to sort them
  9. Thanks to the "takers" I'm going to take a break to clean this up a little and will be back with some more variety a little later.
  10. The Spider #4 Grant Stockbridge DEATH REIGN OF THE VAMPIRE KING/PAIN EMPEROR $10 SOLD to TupennyConan Published at $4.95 so a bargain for $10 Fine/Very Fine - unread uncirculated copy with only minor storage wear. Two novels, originally published in November 1935 as "Death Reign of the Vampire King" and in February 1935 as "The Pain Emperor" in the pulp monthly publication The Spider, Master of Men!
  11. G-8 and his Battle Aces The Mark of The Vulture Robert J. Hogan Berkley X2058 $8 SOLD to TupennyConan Classic paperback edition of the legendary pulp fiction G-8 Adventures Fine - new unread condition with only light edgewear. Supple pages. An excellent copy.
  12. Wolfling Gordon R. Dickson Dell 9633 1st Edition $15 SOLD to TupennyConan Stunning Copy - another great Jeff Jones Cover Near Fine - appears unread - Only the slightest hints of edgewear, even that tough back cover is real nice. 15. The Moon Of Gomrath Alan Garner Ace G-753 $9 SOLD to TupennyConan Beautiful Jeff Jones Cover Very Good/Very Good+ Solid straight spine - Super glossy, only light wear to the spine
  16. Fool For Love by Wright Williams Croydon Love Novel 15 $40 L.B.Cole painted sleaze romance cover in decent shape. I've found this to be by far the scarcest of the 4 small format paperbacks Cole did for Croydon. These Croydon Books were also printed on cheap paper and are very tough to find in nice shape. Very Good Nice copy. Bright colors. Square solid spine, some staining on spine as shown. No significant creasing, only tiny corner creases as shown. Soiling on back cover. Still a very nice presenting copy.
  17. Two Sinners Lee Jackquin Stork Original Novel No. 8 $60 Very Rare Vintage Digest Paperback with a classic L.B.Cole painted sleaze romance cover in nice shape for these. These Stork Novel Books were printed on cheap paper and are very tough to find in nice shape. Ridiculously cheap compared to what his comics go for. Cole's cover colors are bright and bold on this 1950 digest paperback just as they are on his comic book cover art. Very Good with many Very Good+ qualities on the front cover. Nicest copy I had seen in years until I found my current copy. Bright colors. Solid staplebound spine, has some rust on staples as usual. No significant creasing. Soiling on back cover as usual. Tanning to pages and cover but still very supple. Tear on title page. A very nice presenting copy that I'm happy to keep in my pile if it doesn't sell.
  18. Ace D 23 Bring Back Her Body Stuart Brock (aka Louis Trimble) PBO & Passing Strange Richard Sale $25 SOLD to OtherEric Sweet Dangerous Dame cover art on the Trimble PBO. "Passing Strange" looks like DeSoto to me but it remains uncredited. Very Good/Very Good Plus Solid straight binding, pages are supple. Covers glossy and bright with minimal creasing and wear. Would be straight VG+ if not for that crease on the upper right corner of "Passing Strange" Still a very nice copy of an early Ace Double vintage paperback
  19. The Cut of the Whip Peter Rabe & Kill One Kill Two Robert H. Kelston Ace #D297 $20 SOLD to OtherEric Beautiful Harry Barton GGA cover art on "Cut", looks like Lou Marchetti on "Kill" Very Good/Very Good Plus. Solid spine, pages tight and supple. Minimal creasing, mostly to spine, a bit of spine wear and aging but overall very attractive. For those who know (or don't know), these Ace Mystery doubles are infinitely tougher to find than the Science Fiction doubles, which seem to have been hoarded as Sci-Fi collectors were wont to do with every piece of paper they possessed lol!
  20. Revolt of the Triffids John Wyndham Popular Library 411 $15 SOLD to alecholland One of Earle K. Bergey's most famous paperback covers Very Good minus. Spine is solid but slanted, pages tight with some uneveness. Light cover creasing and wear. Presents well and is a great entry copy (and priced as such)
  21. Macamba Lilla Van Saher Popular Library 233 $20 Sold to OuterboroGuy Classic Bare Breasted GGA cover by Rudolph Belarski Very Good/Very Good+ Solid square binding. The book appears very lightly read. Some very light surface creases and edgewear. A very nice presenting copy of a vintage Popular Library paperback
