Ace D-191 Apalachee Gold by Frank Slaughter. Beautiful GGA cover painting is uncredited, although I suspect it's Lou Marchetti or Walter Popp. Very Fine. A stunning glossy, never read copy. Interiors are off white. A couple of color flecks to the edges. I can't find anything else to note. Incredible for a 67 year old book! $25 Sold to Microbia

Ace D 533 Mad Ave. by H.T. Elmo. Cartoon/Gag book. This came from a small box of books that I was told were from the White Mountain collection. The date stamps and condition of the books seem to comport with that. Fine/VF Stunning white colors and gloss. Pages and interior covers are very lightly toned. Rare for Aces. One light handling crease on front cover. Probably unimprovable. $25 Sold to OtherEric

Ace D-453 The Games of Neith by Margaret St. Clair (1st Book Edition)/The Earth Gods Are Coming by Kenneth Bulmer. GGA cover art by Ed Emshwiller. VG Plus/ Near Fine. Bright square and glossy. Has a few light surface creases from handling but appears unread or lightly read. Pages toned as usual. A very nice looking copy. $12

Ace Double M-113 The Rithian Terror/Off Center by Damon Knight. Signed by Knight on the Rithian Terror side. Cover art by Jack Gaughan. VG+/Near Fine. Bright, glossy colors. Light spine bends, one light impact mark. Store stamp on title page. Light interior toning. A very sweet signed copy. $20 SOLD @20% off to Outerboroguy

Ace F-321 Maza of the Moon By Otis Adelbert Kline. Frazetta cover and interiors. Fine or better. Never read, structurally flawless. Bright colors. Tiny stamp on top page edge. Has some light rubbing to the front cover that doesn't photograph and age toning to interiors or I'd call it VF. It'd be tough to upgrade. $25 SOLD to TupennyConan

About me: I've been collecting comics since I was kid but mostly collect paperbacks and digests along with some magazines these days due to the high cost of comics and the amazing artistic variety and bang for the buck you get from golden age (1940's-1960's) vintage paperbacks. I've been buying selling and trading Vintage pb's since the Hancer Price Guide came out back in the 80's. Been on Ebay since 1998 with 100% positive feedback. I tend to grade paperbacks in the manner of current pulp grading: Poor/Fair/Good/Very Good/Fine/Very Fine I'm a high grade collector so my books are almost all Very Good and better if they're available in those grades. Some books just aren't available for various reasons.

This is my second sales thread on the boards. I'm going to throw up a cross section of cool vintage science fiction, including many Ace books plus some classics and GGA, many of which haven't seen the light of day for decades. Lots of great cover art, fantastic reading although most are in high grade so you may want to just display their awesomeness. Best of all of course, they're very affordable in today's market. I plan to add to this throughout the weekend, as time permits, so check back please, you never know what I might decide to sell! The rules for this thread are: -No HoS or Probation list buyers -I will ship to Canada but will have to quote shipping options. -Payment via Venmo or Paypal preferred. I also can do Zelle although it is a bit more of a pain to do. -Shipping via USPS Media Mail for $4 or Priority Small Box for $11 for the continental United States. More than one book I will ship at the least extra cost practicable. Shipping for Canada will be quoted. -First in the thread wins and prevails over pm offers -Returns accepted for 14 days after delivery but please let me know asap if you are unhappy for any reason and I will make it right. I do miss things occasionally. Feel free to pm with offer or questions. I'm always open to reasonable package offers. I've dealt with a few boardies over the years, and my brand new Kudos thread is here for those that don't know me: Please feel free to add to that thread if you like your deal

Been running around a lot this week so just sorted out these recent pics of pickups... I had a nice copy of this George Gross GGA digest in my original collection. It wasn't this nice tho... Maybe his best Quarter Book. This beauty was painted by Ray Pease. I keep promising myself not to collect the Carter Brown's because there's so many but couldn't resist this title/cover combo A couple more of the "Girls" "Barge Girl" cover art signed by Barye Phillips. "Con Girl" not signed and not on Lynn Munroe's Rader checklist so it's uncredited but gorgeous and in the style.

Anyone who knows this book knows it always shows up faded, especially the spine, and poorly centered. Well my former top copy was nice but this new chart topper here has about the strongest colors and best centering I've seen. Has a touch of spine wear at the lower front edge but no front cover creasing and just a one surface crease on the back.

Windy City Pulp show, 2023. NEXT weekend, April 20 - 23
Surfing Alien replied to catrick339's topic in Pulp Magazines
Looking forward to going to Windy City again this year. I'll be getting in Friday afternoon and will be there through Saturday night so hope to see fellow boardies there and pick up some cool books My favorite pickup from last year was the cover proof to Avon Fantasy Reader #5 & #6 from the Weinberg estate. Such coolness is rampant at the show and I hope to find another singular gem! -
It wouldn't be Friday without some Friday fun... A couple more nice Frazetta's. These are all firsts... One of Maguire's best Berkley compositions. These John Dickson Carr novels are usually trashed. And finally a staggeringly gorgeous GGA cover by Freeman Elliott. Elliott was a high end commercial artist who only stooped to do a few paperback covers that I know of but boy, when he did

@OtherEric got me thinking about closing out my PKD's. I still don't have the Signet DADOES but picked up this tough Pop in nice shape + A couple of pretty sleaze titles... A gorgeous Rader "girl" And a rare Imperial Book. The art is uncredited but high quality for a small sleaze imprint and I love the color palette.

Picked up some nice books this week, this gem is my friday fun though. Dell #221, "Dark Passage" by David Goodis If you know, you know, that they're plagued with all kinds of problems beyond creasing and handling wear. To wit, poor color strike, fading of the poor color strike and all kinds of lamination issues. This one has a killer front cover and spine and only some light creasing, discoloration and corner wear on the back. A keeper for sure.

As @Randall Dowling pointed out in his sales thread, Ace Burroughs books and Frazetta's in general, seem pretty common, and mostly are, except if you're looking for sharp high grade copies. Based on requests in my own sales thread and pm's I think it's probably a smart move to pick up high grades whenever they're available. Here's a few recent snags. They're mostly later prints but look so sweet and not growing on trees in this condition either.
