  1. I got a feeling once the TPB comes out you'll see those numbers start creeping up. I pre ordered three of them just so I can share.

I only found one place online pre-selling the TPB.

I tried to order three copies for myself, but it only let me order two... and then it was sold out afterwards.

I guess I got the last two copies from that site.

Dare I ask how many TPB are being printed?

  2. I'm from Canada and we don't have any local retailers that does cgc'ing for customers. Nor there is any authorized cgc member to authenticate a signature. But the Calgary expo is coming up and I want Stan lee to sign my eosv#2 raw copy. Do you think I can sell it afterwards? Just by curiosity I totally appreciate my eosv#2 and Stan lee.

But I think people will just think it's a fake signature and all. Since there's no COA or cgc authorized witnesses .

I just want to see how this works out and what buyers will see. If they see me posting that I want to sell a signed raw copy of eosv by Stan lee

Any can give me some advice? Any candian members here?

make sure to take a photo of him signing it

  3. I never speculated on a book ever in my life. Until this variant of this book. It was just all that.

But if anyone got caught with a $75 raw S-G Phantom and are now bemoaning that they can't get more than $50 for it.... that's just odd.

The market for a raw was "NEVER" $75

    Median pre-sale market was $19

    Median current price is $23

    WHY are your panties bunched?

I think you're mistaking me for the other guy.

I was making the same point you were.

  4. I'll be picking up some covers when the prices hit the floor, they really are sweet looking but there's no way I'm buying anything right now. I got SG#2 1:25 yesterday from my lcs(thankfully some places aren't asking so much), it really is a beautiful cover.

when do you think the SG prices will crash and hit the floor.

Most variants bottom out pretty quick, the phantom is down to about a third of what it was pre-selling for. It's hard to say what the floor will ultimately be, but patience pays.

Phantom started pre-selling online for $5.99-$10

It's down to a third of that!?

    Really.

    It's a third of the pre-sale ceiling.

Where was it pre-selling for $75-$90???

Because it's been selling at an easy $25-$30 quite consistently on Ebay for weeks.

  5. Is there any possibility that Marvel, I mean Sony, are looking at this phenomenal popularity of Spider Gwen and devising a way to get her into the next Spider Man movie? Perhaps it will even be a Spider Verse related movie? What do you think?

    In a word. No.

    -J.

I agree. a few years down the line..if she's still relevant, then I'd say they might consider it. But movies are a very very large financial risk, so they tend to prefer established franchises that have demonstrated they have staying power.

Not a dig on the character, just my thoughts.

Sure. Huge risk. With a character blowing up, hundred of thousands of fans within little more than 6 months, cos players, millions of dollars spent on properties - an investment of a 100 mil on a failed comic line from the 90s is more promising

    Both are stretches. :insane:

But some boardies on here have a pretty strong financial investment on this book. hm

I don't want to say anything about Valiant because I don't want to see another thread on it. lol

Same as Spider-Gwen some of you are just plain dreaming. In a few years maybe if its sustainable. A cartoon would be first I would think anyway.

I make great money from Spider-Gwen. This is the only modern book that I invest in without having to think that "it may not work if this doesnt get optioned". Period.

No other new character generated more money for comic book retailers in the past few years without having the option cloud above them.

Do I wanna see Spider Gwen in a movie? not necessarily

Would it make sense for Marvel/Sony to make a movie from this character now?

    ABSOLUTELY

A 2-second Spider-Gwen cameo at the end of one of these movies would probably bust this book wide open and even drive some folks here into sheer hysteria!

It would cost Marvel/Disney/Sony next-to-nothing but then they'd know for sure whether to risk a full movie on her.

  6. It looks like 1a is staying strong. A copy is over $60 with days to go on eBay.

It's just a matter of time before it past the phantom copy in value. All I have

    is two copies dam.

IMO it will never eclipse the Phantom #1 just because of print run numbers. I might be wrong but with a print run under 600 the Phantom will be almost impossible to find as more fans come along .

This is my thinking on the matter. If we could only have either 1A or the Phantom, which would we choose ? I would take the 1A because when the book first came out, this is the one that best portrayed what is in the story to me with art by Mehdi. If I could only have 1 piece of original art, 1A would also be the choice. That doesn't mean 1A will have a higher value but probably a much higher demand so I see it as at least a possibility. 2c

    Get.

    Both.

  7. My advice before popping that ebay auction for the raw (for anyone considering it) would be to request photos of the actual book before buying. The seller was very friendly in my communication with him, but with no other description aside from "NM", I was disappointed with the condition of the books I received from him.

That's my honest opinion, not slandering because we're selling the same book.

    Were these NYCCs?

He had a couple that sold a few days ago too.

  8. Damn, if I didn't already have so many of these I'd have been all over it for my PC.

I haven't mastered the art of flipping so until I do, I'm not going to practice on $700 sets.

But that is pretty darn good for the full complete set.
