Another one that was just sold here on the boards is up; Court is fast with his shipping!!!
That's not an NYCC though, and why no pick of the BC sketch?
-
$575.00
Thanks.
Watchcount said $660, but I didn't click on the bidding history link.

2 NYCCs sold together just now.

Raw, $224 is that each? Someone bought both.
Good score!

Wow!
And then there was this sale of a couple of raw copies too:
-
Let me rephrase, how many characters appearing in the shield tv show have seen an uptick in demand for their first appearance in comics? This is a genuine question.
That does limit the amount some.
Mockingbird
Phil Coulson
Graviton
Those 3 come to mind. Of the 3 really Mockingbird is the only one that has really taken off of the top of my head.
Quake - daisy Johnson. The show really evolves around her and this season her books will continue to spike.
Yep.
But a tough one to get in high grade with that all-black cover.
I pulled a beautiful tick-less copy out of a 50-cent bin a while back. Now they're going for $15-20+

$600.00... Wow.
Hurry, someone list another and see what happens!
Well... go ahead and lead the way!
-
Someone else is joining the NYCC club, well or adding to a personal collection.
Book sold, payment received.
Wow. That's double the last 9.8 slab from just two weeks ago.

Missed this one tonight.
I was watching it this evening - thought it would go for a little bit more though.
-
I admit it doesn't look as bad as it does on the eBay image, still looks like crumple damage to me though.
Also, no better image of what looks like blunted front cover bottom corner either.
$300 OBO at the moment, so that is more reasonable than it was.
It presents beautifully ... much better in-hand than the pics present.
And a big thank you to Tony for working with me on this... Awesome communication with me on getting this book, and sending it with an overabundance of protection at every level! Top notch seller! And a thank you also goes to IntoAnother for sending me the lead on this.
This book is going to be a permanent fixture in my PC.
Not sure if I want to grade it though... I have no clue what that corner and a small amount of wear on the back will do to the grade.
But it's a BEAUTIFUL book no matter what.

Anyone see that the first Spidey Gwen slabs have hit Ebay?
Same seller that had the first to market, "controversial" Star Wars #1s.
Curious to see how these end.
Yep.
Meanwhile, 2-3 months from now....
-
Alright, so all the Phantoms are accounted for.... so now it's off to CGC!
So sexy...
BTW, this is the first book that I have EVER bought more than two copies of..... the cover is just that awesome!

Another extremely popular variant, Enormous #1, which was limited to 250 copies, also sold out quickly.
No, he is right, this is from Bleeding Cools site. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/10/11/nycc-the-hard-to-get-variants-for-wytches-enormous-and-spread/
With that said, good ole Rich is often not spot on....
Was that me?
Bleeding Cool Rich! Welcome to the boards!
this thread is delivering more and more win every day!

There aren't enough of them around. I see this one being one of the harder covers to get. I've got 4 and you can't have them.
I've got one and no one's getting it either!
Maybe we can start an "Enormous 3B Club" thread.
I think there may be more people looking for 2 B, seems like a lot of people here are missing that. We should start a sub thread in here for what people are missing.
I don't really care for that one.

I think a lot of these are collected for the covers...similar to those nudie girl comic covers people like....except with monsters. I never really hear much at all about the story.
Isn't that why ALL variants are collected?
-
Andy @ 215Ink also said 106 when I spoke with him at NYCC.
Well then with those two (Tim and Andy) saying so, I guess it's a safe "106" then.
-
In regards to the NYCC, I think its all about that print run of 106. Its the smallest printed #1.
As an aside, where did the "106" count come from? I've seen references (like in Bleeding Cool and others reporting right after the con) that ranged from 250 to 500 for this issue. Is there a definitive source for this number?
-
I just paid $20 a piece for a few extras of issue 2 and 3.
I also picked up my only copy of 1B - I've actually had more trouble finding 1B than anything else I have personally looked for (I haven't sought a NYCC).
I just can't pull the trigger on 1B at any price!
To me that cover is just so
-
6 could be the 1st key after #1 ..
Which one?
D?

(thumbs uTop 41. NYCC
2. 1 Phantom first print
3. 1 a
4. 1 b
Random Enormous observation. Is anyone paying attention to issue #2a. I don't see them a lot in the "wild".
Top 10 Personal Cover Preferences (issues 1-6):
1. NYCC
2. 1 Phantom first print
3. Treasury
4. 1A
5. 2A (really dig the praying mantis)
6. 3B (another praying mantis)
7. 6C
8. 4C

10. 6A
I'm currently missing two of these.

Thanks for clearing it up guys! I guess I'll buy a copy just in case Marvel decides to write some magic time traveling story with she-Thor and Gwen that explains it.
So... you're going to proactively purchase a potential future retconned first cameo appearance of Spider-Gwen.
Now THAT is foresight!
Enormous ! How big will it get ?
