  1. Really cool items on display!! It's funny how my eye was drawn immediately to two fairly nondescript things in particular: the Crawford's Encyclopedia of Comics (second shelf from bottom) and the Johnson and Smith catalog on the shelf above that next to the Batmobile. Other goodies abound like the Comix reference and the Signet Batman paperbacks and more...
  2. This thread was a great read for me as well, but I wasn't here as it unfolded: I read it years later just before I joined. Good thing, too, as I probably would've had a breakdown as it unfolded (which I'm sure some nearly did!). What also makes me nostalgic are some of the boardies that were posting responses in the earliest pages of this thread that sadly don't post anymore, some big-time collectors and fans among them. I hope they'll rejoin us soon, along with BZ!
  3. Boy, it will be hard to top this one for the sheer cross-section of super cool comics! One gem after another! What an amazing time capsule from an era in comics that has so, so many fans.
  4. Thanks, Robot Man. Being the crazy little generalist I am, I really don't seek out runs, and instead grab a few representative examples - more of a type collection. It'll look nice when propped up next to an example of each of the Spider, Doc, the Shadow, the Avenger, Operator 5, G-8, Dusty, etc. as I am sometimes prone to doing... you know, when you walk into the room and are ambushed by an intimidating assault of color??
  5. Nice catch, knowing how much you like ol' Alfred E.
  6. Totally agree, and I love all the 10 and 12 cent bubble issues - even the oddball western and romance books - as well some love for DC bold rectangle 10 and 12 centers as well...
