  8. Bantam Books No. 1 and 2 - "Life On The Mississippi" by Mark Twain, with a nice folksy cover by Hoffman, second printing, and "The Gift Horse" by Frank Gruber, stated second printing. Solid VG to VG+ copies - some creasing to "Life On The Mississippi" lower right and some foxing on the left-hand edge of "The Gift Horse" and some spine fading. Both really tight bindings. $15 Now $12 for the pair, and you're one-fifth the way complete with the first ten!
  9. Archer Book No. 51 - "Night Haunts of Paris" by Roland Vane. VG+ copy - tight book with minor storage wear and light moisture staining to the front and back upper right portion of the book. $25
  10. Popular Library No. 276 - "Somewhere In This House" by Rufus King. Terrific GGA cover art by Rudolph Belarski. VG+ mostly due to some creasing to the covers and book; a few dog-ears to a couple of the back pages. The colors are strong and the book really "pops" propped up on a shelf... $25 SOLD!
  11. Popular Library No. 402 - "Main Line" by Livingston Biddle, Jr. A great GGA cover by Harry Barton. Fine+ copy with some ink smearing (bluish) from the page edges and one slightly cocked signature to the pages. $25 Now $20 SOLD!
  12. Popular Library No. 142 - "Guardians of the Desert" by Tom Gill. Popular published their share of westerns in addition to the mysteries which collectors cherish. Fine copy, with minimal wear and a slight spine slant. $12 Now $10

Here’s another group of six “thick books.” The condition again varies, but these are definitely on the more fragile side like earlier pulps and you’ll usually see some paper loss at the spines and along the edges. $10 each - The Young Outlaw top row has been sold - or take the remaining five books for $35!
  14. These are usually referred to as “thick books” by the older generations of collectors of genre fiction. They bridge the era from the dime novels and nickel weeklies to the pulps. They are digest-sized and mirror the pulps in printing quality, with slick covers pasted on cheaper wood pulp interiors. I can post some individual scans later. I have several more besides the ones shown. $10 each, or $40 for the lot as shown. The conditions vary, but all can be considered fragile by comic standards, and more in line with early pulps.
  15. I feel the same way, that Hollywood keeps looking rearward instead of forward, with constant remakes and franchises run into the ground. Still, as others have already indicated, it looks interesting. I'd give it a watch.

"Scott turned chicken when it came time to pulling the trigger, but there were four hillbilly lovelies who never would have believed it. They'd all found him a very handy man with his gun."
