  1. Interesting array of faves! I especially like the OA for the Hostess ad: I remember those ads well.
  2. Another great haul, RM! That Astounding with the Lovecraft is especially coveted, and those early Mad's ain't half-bad either.
  3. That's a shame, as we are undoubtedly the poorer without them sharing their gems and insights.
  4. I remember grabbing several of those off the newsstand at the local drugstore. I always loved the Spy Vs. Spy stuff and the Sergio Aragones, but I treasured those Don Martin collections almost as much. Great stuff!!
  5. Given the mind-numbing scale of the best Timely collection in the world, the second best must be stupefying in much the same way. Tell him the new layout hain't half bad and to come back and post. Haven't we all pretty much forgotten by now what we disliked whenever some new improved version is rolled out?
  6. Two ten-cent Atlas westerns and a 12-center that just seems to fit in with them:
  7. I bought some bronze Spidey's from him about a month and a half ago - nice books and nicely priced!
  8. Thank you. Yes, sartre was still posting when I joined, but as you say, I have not seen him of late. A 9.4 Cap...
  9. The Allentown is a 9.8, right? Do you know the provenance of the 9.4 you mentioned?
  10. Dinesh, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess your collecting budget is bigger than mine... But your goodies remind me of something I think is great about this hobby: there is something for everyone, at every level. I enjoy seeing your grails, and I enjoy seeing someone's oddball Charlton romance that they just treasure. Congrats on some lofty acquisitions.
  11. Congrats!! All three books are Silver age royalty! Good luck with more of the same in 2019.
  12. Anyone else here have stacks of old school worksheets with whole pages of doodles and drawings on them? I have handouts from high school spanish and trig with drawings that took the whole hour of class to complete, much to the dismay of my teachers: Sometimes I would get ahold of a felt-tip marker: And if I wasn't reading Homer, at least I was thinking about it:
  13. Cool haul, especially those treasury editions and FOOM's!!
  14. Super drool-worthy array, but did you sort of consider breaking protocol and pulling TTA 43 in favor of 44, which is a far more significant book??
  15. Number 3 for me, all day long. I think 14 spiked years ago and remained in the higher regard based mostly on inertia.
  16. Super wonderful piece, and the box is just icing on the cake! Those vignettes of Porky and Petunia are totally priceless.
  17. This is a really impressive thread, and this is one of the most impressive books to me. Major congrats on something a little off the beaten path that just glows, glows, GLOWS!
  18. A really, really cool smattering of books, truly - being the Atlas fan I am, I'd have to go with the Unknown Worlds as my favorite, but there's some definite competition.
