2018 Green Eggs Grading Contest - Round 5
Hudson replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Sometimes NOT getting your grades in gets you a better score than getting them in. (ie. Round 2 for me). -

OK, it is getting late on the East Coast. Time for bed. Can't look at these any more.... Grades sent in (for what that's worth). -

I felt the same way on round 2 (otherwise to be forever known as the infamous Millie round)! -

Actually I got the Harry Potter 9 3/4 grade. In all seriousness, I think this contest is intended to be fun and hopefully helps people to better understand CGC grading. This is my first time entering and I am having a fun (although at times frustrating) time. I really appreciate all the hard work and effort that @thirdgreenham and @sckao put into this. -

May I suggest another option? Just put ALL possible CGC grades in a hat and randomly pick one out. -

Finally a decent round. 8 Points. Not bragging, as ONE round does not make a "winner". -

Grades submitted. I think I might have better luck (guesses) if I graded them blindfolded. -

"Grades" (and I am using the term very loosely) sent. -

+1 (sorry for the "old school" +1, but this deserves more than a "like"). I might not agree with "any" size, as some might say a 1/100th of an inch chip does not deserve such treatment, however, the piece off that Weird certainly qualifies as large enough. -

I submitted my "throw a dart at a board" guesses. Hoping for the best! -

IDK. Have you been buying from Mile High??? -
Do any of those mylars have some "dust" of an old Action Comics 1 in them???? Maybe even a staple that got loose and fell off???
-
Come on William, you have not purchased that much. I agree (as I believe most boardies would) that this is something better handled through PM. I have purchased raw from Rick and the books were well described in his post and I have been happy with them.

This was my first and I am rather certain my last year attending this convention. If you like cosplay then this place was full of it. If you like comics, then you might be disappointed: I was. There were a few GA dealers, but not many. Greg Reese (great guy), Dale Roberts, Harley Yee, and Graham Crackers were there. Also Tales to Astonish. Overall, however, the selection was very limited. Baltimore is IMO a far better show for GA collectors and probably all comic collectors.

@circumstances Please allow me to say that your sig line is very impressive. All great books. I especially like your TEC 5! -

100 percent agree. I think 2 - 5 are definitely in limited supply and demand far outweighs supply. Action 2 is perhaps my favorite cover of all time Any slabbed copies I have of those books ( 2 - 5 ) are only because I purchased them already slabbed. -

I think CGC is great for selling. For those of us (seemingly dying breed) who simply collect (and actually read) comics, there is no great need to encapsulate. Perhaps when I die and my kids liquidate, you will see some of those CGC census numbers move up, since I am certain I can't take them with me. -
I agree, Ben. It is after all the 2nd cover for Batman. As for me, I think HA's second Superman cover was much closer to a real 5.0.

Although the missing piece does not bother me tremendously (when simply looking at the book), it would likely bother me a lot more if I dropped $95K to buy it. I also don't understand how a book with a piece that big missing still grades at 5.0 (but then again maybe I am the stupid one).
