  1. Pretty nice book but I am wondering how much the pen mark on the back cover (right on the guy in the ad's leftshoulder) would effect the potential grade? Thanks
  2. This would be cleaned and pressed before submitting, but trying to figure out this top right corner (especially on the back cover) Seems like it was cut this way from the factory but I dont know how cgc would grade it? Keeping the hanging corner piece attached in the process would be a concern too. Thanks
  3. Really nice book with some small issues. A little bit of color loss on the "o" of Fantastic Four in the trade dress. On the back, there is a faint crease all the way down vertically. I dont think it is technically a subsciption crease since those seem to be way more pronounced than this one. It breaks color in a few spots but not all the way down. I see no evidence of the crease on the front cover. Not sure how this would grade out so I turn to to you... thanks
  4. I realize this book is a all over the place and probably shouldn't be sent in anyways, but I was wondering how cgc would handle these weird ink smudges near the spine? They look like spine stress but I believe it is just the way it was printed. There is also a spot below the bottom staple that looks like a spine tick but I think its just the way it was printed as well but 🤷‍♂️.. thanks
  5. Thank you for the response. I wasnt really set on getting this one graded but really wanted to get a feel for how that kind of "flaw" effected the grade because I have seen (and own) many books like this that were otherwise very sharp and have always wondered how the CGC graders would grade them... Thanks
  6. I have a few books that are pretty nice but have at least one corner where the cut is not clean from the factory. I can tell this is the case because the subsequent interior pages have a similar shape to the cut. I am trying to figure out if this is seen as a flaw or whether it goes into the same category as minor bindery tears, gripper holes, distribution ink and slight over/under wrap of the spine? All things that, while affecting the presentation, generally don't effect the numerical grade. Basically, what would this book be graded at with the upper right corner not being completely squared off/sharp? Can a book like this get a 9.8 if otherwise worthy? (not saying it is, just trying to see if it is worth sending in books with this factory issue) Thanks
  7. Some color rub and some color breaks near upper left corner. Thanks
  8. I think it might just be the lighting. This is my second copy of this and it looks pretty much like the other one I have.
  9. This is such a nice book, with one glaring issue. I am curious how this would grade out. Thoughts? thanks
  10. I just picked this up for 25 cents...lol . It didnt look like this when I picked it out of the .25 bin just mixed in with some other swamp things that were in far lower grade, without a bag and board to be found on any of them. Anyways, after a clean and press, here it is... thoughts?
  11. No grader notes on this one. I was surprised that I did get a handful of grader notes on this submission, as apposed to my last submission when I only received one out of 25 books submitted. I just didnt happen to get any on this book.
  12. Just wanted to make a long overdue update to this (I procrastinated sending it in) and let you guys know that I have not received the book back but looked up the grade.Final verdict....9.4!!
  13. You got me thinking so I did a Google search and I think it is a printing thing for sure. I found many others with the exact same line... here is a slabbed 9.4 I found with it.
  14. I dont think it is either. I believe it was printed that way...
  15. Upper left corner color rub is biggest culprit but otherwise pressed out pretty nice..your thoughts?
  16. I wanted you guys' thoughts on this because I have run into this on a few of my books. This book has a few small cuts/tears on the top of the book. I have a handful of other books with seemingly the same strange cuts and almost all of them also have uneven/jagged/chunky cuts on the actual outer edges of the inner pages as well. This leads me to believe the cutting machine was dull or something, which likely caused the cuts on the top of the book. How does cgc handle this? I tried to zoom in on the cuts but they are not very noticeable, even in person. Thanks.
  17. Not sure if I even want to send it in but I have always liked this book and was wondering your thoughts about this? Bottom left corner color break and and a couple of light color breaking spine ticks. Thanks
