  1. Just picked this up for what I think was a good deal. I dont dabble in silver age much. Some clean up and a press later, I am happy with the results. First Neal Adams Batman work, so a nice piece of history
  2. Just picked this up. Trying to get an idea how cgc would grade this. Front is nice, back has some color rub and I dont know what kinda hit it takes on a back cover like this?... I hate black covers 😒
  3. Hey guys, the spot is just a shadow due to the lighting. The back has no stains or issues like that. Thanks
  4. Looking for some feedback on this. I bought it with, what I thought was, a color breaking stress/tick on the upper staple. After receiving it, I have come to realize that it is a very clean/sharp tear. I am trying to figure out how hard the grader will hit me for this and if it is even worth grading. It is an otherwise pretty sharp copy. All input is appreciated. Thanks
  5. I think this is my new favorite book. Got it mostly sight unseen for a very good deal and I think I did well. Tattooz are in there too!!!!
  6. I know this book is about as common as dirt but this is a newstand so I am debating getting it graded. Question I have is with regard to the fact that the cover does not go out as far as the interior pages. You can see the interior pages sticking out past the cover. Not by much in the front but the back is more obvious. How does CGC look at this? Is it just simply a production "issue"? I have a few different books with this "issue" to varying degrees so your input is greatly appreciated. FYI, the book is not trimmed or anything as I took it out of the polybag myself years ago.
  7. Here is a better shot of the whole front cover.
  8. Just realized I cut off the top in one of the pics but the corners shots should give you a good look. Super glossy book I just won on an ebay auction. Upper left corner is only real issue. thanks
  9. Thanks for the comments. Just for future notice, do the production creases play into these estimates or are those deemed a production flaw by cgc?
  10. Trying to figure out what you guys think the graders will come up with on this. Slight bottom right corner crease is one issue, but what I am not sure about is the printing creases on the back. This book has been pressed already. Thanks
  11. I believe this is the 1st full app of death stalker and is also a pretty early Man Thing app. Picked it up on ebay for $28 after shipping and tax on an auction that sat with no bids while other lower grade copies went much higher...very weird that it fell through the cracks but I was happy. Thanks
  12. Ya, I hear ya. Not an exact science even in person let alone via pics. It's definitely not a tape pull and the surface is very consistent when you run your finger past it so that leads me to lean towards it being a printing thing but I have been wrong before, just ask my wife 😄
  13. Hi, thanks for taking the time. I meant to mention that I think that white spot is a printing error as there is no loss of material there and it is very smooth but I am far from an expert.
  14. I believe this is Man Thing's 3rd appearance but is his first cover appearance so I thought it would make for a good slab contender. Thanks
  15. Trying to get some opinions on this. My search for a nice gradeable star wars 81 continues. Bought this off eBay with only a front cover picture to go on. Should have asked for shot of the back... last one I bought had some pretty moderate tanning so it's kind of a fool me once shame on you, fool me twice.. well, you know the rest. Anyways, my opinion on ebay sellers and disclosing obvious issues notwithstanding, how badly would the 1/2" or so tear on the back cover of this one effect the grade? It's got a few ticks too so wasn't perfect anyways, but what am I looking at with this one?
  16. No, I think that's just the angle or the lense. It has been pressed and is flat.
  17. Just noticed this book came out in March of 1980. Same month and year I was born... Hopefully it has aged better than me...lol
  18. Not sure if it was the lighting but I dont think the staple has any discoloration. Here is a better shot, I am sure you can figure it out but its the one on the top btw
  19. Only real issue I see is the slightly faded/rubbed black lettering on part of the ad on the back cover. Myunderstanding is this should not effect the grade but I am far from an expert so your opinions are appreciated. Thanks
