  1. One of my recent pickups. Early new X-Men. Small chip on back cover seems to be the biggest flaw. I blew it up on the last pic.
  2. Thanks. It presents well so we will see, and it will look nice in the slab regardless of grade..
  3. It looks a little weird because of the lighting but there is a very slight bit of color loss on the corner. It's not very noticeable in person but it's there if you focus in on it.
  4. I would think at least a 9.0-9.2. Nice
  5. I tried to zoom in on the small tears at the bottom. Not sure if this is a factory "grabber tear" issue or not. Kind of a weird tear to occur from regular handling but I don't know. Thanks
  6. Gotcha, ya its a small chip but I dont think there is an impact there.
  7. Thanks. would you mind elaborating a little more on the flaws? I know about the one spine tick but in my head i had this at a higher grade. I am learning and want to make good decisions on what to submit and what not to submit... thanks
  8. Are you talking about the ink/surface itself or the little small chip on the side? You had me worried about the ink/surface so I looked up others on google images and whatever is there seems to be there on all the ones I found, The small chip is there but its pretty small so not sure if it would have a large effect on the grade or not. thanks
  9. There is one spine tick that I see and I think thats about it. Any discoloration you may see is because of the lighting FYI. Thanks again.
  10. I don't know if this will go in for grading or not, but just want some opinions on this. back cover had a crease in lower left corner that I presssed but still left the lines. Otherwise pretty nice book.
  11. I know I noticed that too.. lol. I even searched others on Google images to see if the overwrap is the only reason and literally every image I saw of it has at least half of the "E" cut off. They didn't think that one through at the time 🤣
  12. Thanks, that's what I am thinking. I don't think it would be worth grading if anything less... 2nd app of Ant Man is hardly a major key...
  13. Ya, I figured that. I just thought it might look cool in a slab and it literally cost me $5, so I thought for $30 bucks all in it would be a nice little deal overall. Even at an 8.0, it still a pretty cheap investment but possibly not worth taking up a slot on my first 25 book submission.
  14. No it did not. Seems to be isolated just to what you see in the pics
  15. Thanks, ya I think its just the lighting as it's totally flat/pressed and has no stains.
  16. Well, this is probably the best condition of any 40+ year old comic that I own...
  17. Ya, it's such a nice book minus the staple rust. In person it seems fairly minor and not very noticeable but I am glad to get some thoughts from the board on this. If I need another book to throw into my submission, I might include it and then report back so we can see how this effects a bronze/copper age grade... we will see. Either way I think I did ok for $5 bucks.😀
  18. No, not at all. I don't think anything I did with the q tip made any difference at all, so I quit while I was ahead...
  19. Sorry, For some reason my response to your question didn't post but I bought the comic for $5 bucks at a local comic shop. I pressed it myself as I just recently bought a press and have been playing around with it for a few weeks. I didnt really touch the staples beyond poking them with a q tip and realizing that not a lot could be done that I had enough experience to do.
  20. I should also add that any discoloration you may be seeing in the shots can be attributed to lighting as this book is pretty clean from that respect, aside from the staple rust that is.
  21. Understood. Just so that I know, is this grade deduction estimate based solely on the rust issue or are you seeing other ussues with it? Only asking so I can learn because I don't see any other issues. This one was on the bubble for getting sent in because it would have decent value in a high grade plus I thought it would look cool in a slab if I just wanted it for my pc, but if it's not going to get over an 8.5 I think it will look cool on a regular bag and board too!! 😀
  22. Yes, it is mine. Acquired at a local comic shop a few months back.
