  1. Nice score! I bought an 8.0 CGC ow/w in 2000. Still have it. This is sort of the last "mysterious" Batman cover for decades. The prices really haven't moved that much in all this time and there are virtually no higher grade examples for sale anywhere.
  2. Very cool! I would like to start collecting the Adams cover only issues but everyone wants WAY too much money for them. IMO.
  3. Really great book. I remember my parents buying me a copy of that issue off the rack when I was in the first or second grade. Strangely enough, my 1st book was Superman 250, which my parents bought off the rack for me when I was in the third grade. Small world.
  4. Yeah. I think Tec 402s are very under rated books and seem to be much harder to find in higher grade than 400. Mine doesn't have perfect centering, but I'm happy to have it. I'm happy you have it, too! It's the dark cover that makes it tough to find in a decent grade. Waited for a long time to find mine. There was another 402 CGC 9.2 on the Bay that looked terrible. It's gone now. I really don't know how it merited a 9.2. It was a mess.
  5. Sometimes some things just have gone too far.
  6. Peter did you see my Tec 28 pic ? Here it is Thats what i see when i look. Har! I have a whole box of those!
  7. The theory is sound, but the action is amoral. That would be a greedy thing to do, not to mention selfish. The destroyed books could provide someone with a lot of happy, happy someone may not have a lot of. Happy is worth more than cash. I recently gave away my signed 11th printing copy of "The Story Of Ferdinand". The look of joy that spread across my friends face was worth so much more to me than the book. I loved that book but I loved her more. I will replace it at some point, but the psychic return for the gesture probably added a year to my life. It isn't always about getting.
  8. Got a nice deal on this from CLINK. I think it presents really nicely for a 7.5.
  9. Let's not blame anyone. We do what we do. This site is a great haven to hide out in to get away from the unbearable tediousness of being. Let's not get this thread locked. Still want to see more examples of Bat 227.
  10. Jobs were hard to come by since there was a massive recession then. Unemployment around 7%. Welfare was a big deal then. His Presidency ushered in the Golden Age of tax cuts for the wealthy and screw everyone else. I remember this because I was in those unemployment lines trying to bring up a young family. People nowadays are remembering him with fondness as this great President, but he wasn't as far as I was concerned. Unless you were wealthy. He was a war freak on top of everything else. All these things are commonplace today, but back then, it was a new phenomenon. YMMV. But, Batman #227 was $3 for a top copy back then.
  11. Then you need a quick course in understanding the concepts of time and space. But you still seem a bit too dumb for it to take, as even after being told that it's a SA series, you proceed to post several more.
  12. Thought you guys would like to see it too. ! For some reason, I associate Deadman with the bronze age.
  13. Love Neal Adams and have decided to start in on the Strange Adventures run. Here's my first acquisition. the 1st appearance of Boston Brand AKA Deadman. He was supplanted by Spawn as the whiniest member of the undead.
