  1. etanick did a vid on this and the salary range for graders was something like 70k to 90k , so no they aren't offering new graders 15 an hour... You are thinking of quality control
  2. I know there've been "grade offs" to settle ties in the past, but no mention of that in this thread. And with so many entrants, there are going to be fart loads of ties.
  3. Ya imo sell much more replaceable stuff and/or things you wont miss if you don't replace them, until you can buy an X-Men #1. And keep the FF #5
  4. What a great story, and grats! To get a shot at a nearly complete run all in one go has to have been pretty thrilling as a collector.
  5. This looks so bad, but maybe in the so bad it's good category. "I think we're dealing with a vampire." "A...WUT?"
  6. Bland, boring, way too many themes and characters tossed in for a film. Thought I was watching the Justice League in new costumes. The humor was less than flat; I didn't laugh until over an hour into the movie (which is fine if there isn't intended to be much humor but there were plenty of obvious attempts in the first hour). Incredibly uneven tone throughout, and wtf they spend half the movie instantly jumping from continent to continent assembling the avengers...I mean the Justice League...! I mean the Eternals. Badly miscast and poorly acted too often (the actors cast are talented, mostly, but here they seemed to be mailing it in at times), hardly any chemistry between any of the characters. Any of them. It's just not good. The final battle sequence is cool looking enough, even if it makes no sense at all. Had low expectations going in and boy did I set them too high
  7. Batman. 1989. Ten years old, standing in line for hours with my parents at the mall to get into a showing. I couldn’t get enough. I bought so many Batman trading cards! but not a single Batman comic book. To this day I’ve only owned a handful of Batman comics. because not long after I saw Batman, i discovered the X-Men and my first issue was Gambit’s second appearance #267. The cover gave me strange feels. The story was WEIRD. I was hooked.
  8. That was before my time, but I do know there is a whole sub-genre of very cool comics related stuff to collect like the already mentioned journals, price guides, etc.
  9. Ya I went to check facebook and saw an announcement there for it, too. Creating cool events to use partially (or even primarily) as new member drives is great. But it also changes the tone a heck of a lot. I'll still participate, but I worry it won't have the same camaraderie as past board grading contests. Still a great idea to bring new faces around.
  10. What about it? The FF didn't even have costumes and then the ones they did get still look like poo and they are still wearing them. POO on THAT!
  11. X-Men #1. But I might be biased
  12. This is the issue I’m having exactly. It happens often and it makes me very sad.
  13. I just bend the fullbacks right back into shape. It works fine. Eyeball it
  14. I honor of finally adding #4 to my run, here’s an obligatory couch shot of #1-10!
  15. This one must be a hot book or something! Got mine today finally
  16. a delightful pile of books. 9.2 is such a sweet spot, IMO.
  17. Another book I'm watching slip away. So much regret!
